    3913 or 6906?

I have a 6906 and 6946; enjoy them both. But it's my opinion that - for me - they're too bulky for concealed carry.

6906 alloy frame - part broke off

There was a discussion in another thread not too long ago about someone offered a M&P because his 3rd gen wasn't repairable by S&W. As I recall, the amount he would have to pay for the new M&P wasn't much less than the then current price at, for example, Buds. Did not seem like a good deal to...

S&W declined to fix my 5906.

$405 is about the price at Buds, where it ships free. You'd have to pay for a FFL transfer though. I've encountered this kind of deal before. Manufacturers work off of list price and think they're doing you a favor, which in most cases is ridiculous.

TTSH's 3rd Gen Question Du Jour

I have a 6906 and a 6946. Both LE trade-ins, well used but not abused. My next would be a 39xx or a CS9. Too scarce around here to be too picky.

    My first 3rd gen - 6906

When I checked a few months ago, they were long gone.

Getting older, what is your firearms endgame?

Similar situation here with respect to family. I'm 65 and in good health (which means nothing if you're hit by a truck). I'm starting to sell a couple of the more collectible firearms - the ones that might take more time and expertise to find a buyer. In a few years, I'll start thinning out...

    3rd Gen Magazines - Pre-Ban vs. Post-Ban

I was aware that I could bring the "hi-cap" handguns with me, but I wasn't aware that I could sell them in MA FTF.

    3rd Gen Magazines - Pre-Ban vs. Post-Ban

This is the clearest explanation I've seen. Thanks! My 2 15 round magazines are post-ban. But with 1 14 and 2 twelves, I'll be fine (they are all S&W oem from what I can tell). Though if I could pick up a 10 rounder for $25 or so I'll do that. Not sure I'll find one at that price, but might...

    3rd Gen Magazines - Pre-Ban vs. Post-Ban

There's a possibility I may move to MA. It's pointless to ask why; it is what it is. I have 5 magazines for my 6906 and 6946 (none are LE or export marked): 2 15 round with orange follower 1 14 round with black follower 2 12 round with black follower If I understand the consensus (using the...

3rd gen recall - Grips problem? (Solved)

Thought I'd provide a 2016 update. I just called S&W about my recently purchased 6906. It has the pre-recall grips. They checked and no longer have the post-recall grips for this model. And it's only been 20 years since being manufactured! :) Will have to look for other suppliers.
