19-3 value? **Pics in post 21**

Despite its flaws, for the amount of money that it sounds like you spent you have a fine shooter that's also good-looking on the range. And you don't have to constantly stress about causing more wear by using it.

S&W revolvers which .22s top of your list

    Define "favorite"? My S&W rimfires include a 48-0, a Pre-17 K22, a 17-2, a 617-1 and a 43-0. I love them all, but.... Most classic - Pre-17 K22, followed by the 17-2. Most unique - 48-0, a one-year production model. This one was badly neglected, abused and cosmetically destroyed by a previous...

Let's see your Law Enforcement Marked Smiths!

Sir, you don't know how happy I am to have seen your picture! I picked up this 65-3 a few years ago and have been attempting to identify its origin (unsuccessfully). The odd thing is that it's a 4-inch round-butt which wasn't a "thing" with the dash-3's. I have sent you a PM so as not to...

Let's see your Law Enforcement Marked Smiths!

Almost forgot about my 64-4 NY-1. Although it apparently wasn't actually issued to the NYPD does it still qualify for this thread? While not shown, I do have the box and paperwork for it.

Let's see your Law Enforcement Marked Smiths!

Just curious; what number is on your tag?

    Some sort of an adhesive.

Let's see your Law Enforcement Marked Smiths!

Nothing sophisticated, but here is a NY Dept. of Corrections 10-10 I picked up not long ago. For a DOC piece it appears to have been pretty well cared for.

    Time machine to the 90's

A model 16-4 would be one of the first to come to mind.

    Grips for a 629

I like Ahrends but also really like Hogue Hardwoods and how their finger-groove grips fit my hand. They offer many options with or without grooves, though, as well as multiple wood species, checkered/not checkered, etc...

How to restore sticky Uncle Mike's

They've been discontinued by Uncle Mike's for years. These are original Uncle Mike's Craig Spegels. A J-frame and a K-frame.

    The one that got away…

About 5 years ago it was a 681 at a LGS for $399. At the time I was committed to--and in the process of--buying an uncommon 686 variant and had my money tied up. We still had kids at home at the time and I just didn't think I could swing it but sure wish now I'd tried a bit harder. Then there...

How to restore sticky Uncle Mike's

I have a couple pair of the renowned Uncle Mike's grips that are going sticky on me. I know this topic has been brought up on occasion, but does anyone know of a known cure (or at least treatment) to de-sticky them and hopefully prolong their life a few more years?

    DOC model 10-10 question

According to the SCSW 4th Edition, 64-2's with a CDC serial number are believed to be California Department of Corrections but this is unconfirmed.

    DOC model 10-10 question

It's not something I'd want to remove, but rather a matter of curiosity.

    DOC model 10-10 question

Thank you. I asked the shop how they knew for certain it was from Kali, or if the consignor simply told them that. They said they had no way of knowing for sure. Just curious; how did they attach the tag to the frame; with an epoxy of some sort? Assuming it's aluminum, correct?

    Rust in new SW 432UC?

My 432UC did not have that rust, thankfully!

    At Last, a K frame .22 Again

Wow! Although #1. I, too, am not an Altamont fan, and #2. the checkering was quite nice, I gotta say those grips look REALLY nice after you modified them! It really reveals the grain that was obscured before. I finally found the right deal on a 617-1 recently, after watching for many years...

    DOC model 10-10 question

Ran across this model 10 locally and the seller claims it was issued by a Kalifornia Department of Corrections entity. From other pictures that I've found online it appears that some NY departments issued model 10's with that same type of ID tag attached to the side, but I haven't seen any Kali...

432 UC Anyone having good luck

While I have not put a ton of rounds through my 432UC it hasn't shown any problems yet. The only thing of any concern is that it wants to "stick" just a little when swinging out the cylinder. The ejector rod seems tight, and I just need to check it out a little more before getting too worried...
