    Home Defense Shotguns

15 years ago I sold my top folder Ex-Police Riot 870, Towards one of the Russian SAIGA 12-C AK based Shotguns - that were imported as Law Enforcement samples, that L.E. agencies declined to buy. At that time I was uncomfortable about keeping my 870 loaded with a youngster at home - or trying to...

    Lever action assault rifles

Yours would have been my first choice. I chose the blow back 9mm Stribog Because our army purchased blow back, Swiss B&T's - stating "the roller lock was un-necessary". When I got my 9mm Stribog they were about $500. & an excellent budget alternative, that I have been well served with +...

The most rusted stainless steel gun I have ever seen in person - a PSA!

Some of the early stainless self loaders were prone to galled ways. My early AMT Hardballer 1911 was galled. it was finally learned that using 2 different alloys together worked better. ALSO using 40w Mobil 1 stopped it. Even though my Hardballer was loosly fitted, & galled, It was my most...

What gun are you on the lookout for?

I'd kind of like to own a decent Mauser C-96 9mm Broomhandle.. I had a good .30 "Bolo" once. Very Keen to own a FN Hi-Power P-35 with Tangent sights & stock slot. VECTOR came out with a beauty - but I'd settle for an INGLIS - like the lady is demonstrating. I'd have bought them while they were...

    Aimpoints or Red Dots

Here is my compact Israeli JERICHO CZ-75 clone. Ordinarily I don't care for rails & coated finishes - BUT I WON IT (new) in a dealers sweepstakes. Jericho's are actually Italian TANGFOLIO CZ-75 clones - Improved by the Israeli IWI , I was surprised by its quality, & took advantage of the rail -...

    Lever action assault rifles

Interesting - Here is a Slovakian 9mm "STRIBOG" - meaning STORM GOD. It is a semi-auto, well made, affordable copy of the Swiss B&T Sub Machine gun our Army recently purchased for close in, & structure clearing combat.. With a laser & red dot - a superior home defense carbine.

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Had to add that MY Favored 9mm combat hand guns are one of my DA/SA CZ -75 clones: Sar 2000, & Jericho + laser. Also, my classic Hi-Power Clones: Stainless Tisas, & Mauser marketed SA-80 by FEG. Even my compact 9mm TOKAREV = Zastava M88A. All have performed perfectly for me. Love them all.

Copper Coated .22 vs Bare Lead

It was my understanding - the above is why it was made, I use it whenever possible, with good results. Especially the "Stinger Hollow Points"

OK, let's talk batons and any leather guys, come on in...

I've always wanted to find an antique TEARDROP SHAPE, BRAIDED LEATHER SAP with a Loop Strap on the narrow end. Only ones I've seen so far were dry-rotted (see Pic). A nice one is out here somewhere. If you see one - let me know.. BTW, www.ecop.com sells some handsome semi braided Black Jacks...

    N Frame Trigger Job

I lubed the works of my N frame S&W with W30 Mobil 1 - & the action improvement was noticeable. Stuff is Magic..

    Reintroducing the 940

I was not familiar with these, & noticed watching the Video, that a hammer spur was not there = DA ONLY. That would be a deal-breaker for me. My Pawnbroker friend had this LNIB Taurus 651 .357 5 shot - & made me a deal I couldn't refuse. It ca be fired SA or DA with its shrouded - but...

    The Harrington & Richardson Sportsman

I'm adding this photo (just because) its another interesting make of top break - A WEBLEY MK IV, Originally a birds head frame & chambered in .455 caliber. I bought it from a small dealer in Maine, who specialized in British Surplus arms - years ago. It was very cheap owing to the fact it...

    Glock has really shocked me!

As a child I got feed-up with plastic toys - & asked my folks to only choose metal. As a boy scout my thrifty dad bought me an army surplus PLASTIC BUGLE instead of the regulation brass one I wanted. I learned to play it, despite the soft tone, & embarrassment.. I'm also annoyed with plastic...

    9mm Snub-nose

I was pleasantly surprised with my LNIB model 651 Taurus .357 snubby - My pawn broker friend almost paid me to take. I would not consider owning a revolver without a hammer - but this ones hammer is shrouded - but still has a knurled tab to cock for S/A. I also prefer THESE Wood grips to rubber...

    Lever action assault rifles

Almost 30 years ago I thought the only rifle I'd need was my pretty Pre-WWII Winchester 30-30 lever action carbine. It was painful to shoot without padding. I'd been hearing about the cheap AKs available back then, & purchased A ROMANIAN SAR-1. Even with its Steel side folding stock - It never...

    Firearms Inventory tagging Question

OH MY, I'm so slack, all that would spoil my fun. I do like to keep zippered Pouches, & especially holsters - separated from my hand guns, which are racked - to allow air circulation, & examined frequently to check for lubrication. My arms all have serial #s recorded. I've made sure my 2 heirs...

    Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accessories"

Sad to admit that @ 78 amid rising prices - I am in a holding pattern on toy purchases. Fortunately though, my defense needs are all met, & I have discovered a delicious way to prepare RAMEN NOODLES - that I really like.

    Confiscated Firearms

Lucky for me my local pawnbroker friend buys at POLICE AUCTIONS. Over the last few years, I bought a nickle plated 1902 S&W 38 spl + a LNIB Taurus Model 651 snubby .357. @ under $300. for the PAIR. On an other occasion, I bought a 1905 SAVAGE .32 from him - Its original grips had 4 deliberately...

    Pocket Pistol

DID SOMEONE SAY POCKET PISTOLS ? I like them, & have a few. My favorite carry is a MAKAROV, I have 2 Russians (9x18mm & .380), & smaller Polish P-64 for summer clothes. A relatively under known & appreciated pocket pistol - I compare to the colt officers.32, Is My Zastava M88A (compact...
