M&P9C: no slidelock with empty mag

Well, I doubt that is the issue, simply because I have long fingers and they do not fall near the slide stop when I grip the gun. I haven't had this issue when I've shot my step-dad's M&P9C either, so I'm thinking it is a combo of brand new recoil spring and maybe weak ammo... I'll definitely...

    M&P 9c magazine finger extension

No problem at all :-) I understand. I recently switched to 9mm across the board. I looked at and shot .40cal while trying to decide but, from what I've read, terminal performance differences between 9mm and .40cal is negligible with good ammo. The cheaper cost of 9mm ammo was a factor, as...

M&P9C: no slidelock with empty mag

Really? Hmm ... I'll definitely try some other stuff then. This being a brand new pistol, I'm sure it has more work to do anyway with the new recoil spring... Thanks! Any recommendations as to something other than WWB that is more consistent?

    M&P9 with Apex Sear

Congrats on your new M&P!! :-D I just recently sold my Glocks (a 29 and 19) in order to purchase an M&P9C and a soon to arrive M&P9... Based on all I'd read I went with the full Duty/Carry Enhancement Kit from Apex for the 9C and... wow... the trigger pull is so smooth now! A great upgrade for...

M&P9C: no slidelock with empty mag

Good points... and the gun does lock back when pulling the slide back so I am now thinking that it may just be a new/tight recoil spring... I was shooting Winchester White Box ammo and I haven't had trouble with that out of other guns - I don't think it is considered a particularly light load...

    M&P 9c magazine finger extension

Left to right: M&P9C 12-round magazine with flat baseplate, M&P9C 12-round magazine with finger rest baseplate, M&P9 17-round magazine, M&P9 17-round magazine with X-Grip sleeve, X-Grip sleeve As for choosing the M&P9C or M&P40C, if it were me and I was happy with the M&P40 I'd lean towards...

    M&P 9c magazine finger extension

Would it be helpful for me to post a pic of both? I find the finger rest to be the better feeling of the two right now (I also have a couple of the X-Grips...) ... I tend to not get as high a grip with the X-Grip as I do otherwise, but I'm sure this is something I can train myself out of. I've...

M&P9C: no slidelock with empty mag

Oh, I got two... the other was just loaded with SD ammo and left in my car :-) I'm definitely going to rotate the mag in question out and try the others (just got my two freebies in the mail this afternoon) to rule out an issue with the gun itself... Thanks!

    M&P 9c magazine finger extension

There are two different things mentioned previously... the finger rest replaces the flate baseplate on the short 12-round mag that comes with the gun. This converts it to match the other mag that ships with the gun... As mentioned, S&W is usually pretty generous and will give you the finger...

M&P9C: no slidelock with empty mag

I took my new M&P9C to the range today for the first time and noticed that, through the one mag I had with me, the slide did not lock back after the last round 8 out of 10 times... This was a brand new mag, as well. Any suggestions as to how to isolate the problem? My first thought is blame the...

    45C XS BIG DOT SIGHTS

I no longer have Big Dots on my pistol so I can't provide a measurement but I will say I found the front dot to be way too big... Perhaps the standard dot would have been a better choice for me? I don't know. Honestly I liked the idea of the sights but I found it too difficult to be...

    Hey to all...

I'm new here and somewhat new to S&W. I inherited a S&W .38 Special revolver from my grandfather and just recently traded in my Glock carry gun for a nice and shiny M&P9C. I look forward to soaking up whatever knowledge 'round these parts my hard head will absorb :-) Cheers, Tim
