Pachmayr Compac Pro J frame discontinued, apparently

Thanks. I was wondering if there was something wrong with me because I have also put together a grip library of sorts, and I'm thinking, each gun only needs one grip at a time, so do I really need to have about 15 grips for four different revolvers?

Pachmayr Compac Pro J frame discontinued, apparently

I wonder if that has to do with the fact that J frames are now lighter and shoot more powerful rounds. The original Chiefs Special was all steel, about 20 oz, and shot .38 special. Now the most popular ones are 14 oz. and shoot .357 Magnum.

Pachmayr Compac Pro J frame discontinued, apparently

It appears that the Pachmayr Compac Professional grip for S&W J frames #03254 has been discontinued. No one has it in stock. Midway, Pachmayr, even Amazon only has one seller with one copy. One online retailer even listed it as discontinued. I guess it wasn't that popular? That is too bad...

What kind of grip is this?

I'm told it stands for "blue steel." But then why the Glock is also labeled as "BS" I do not understand. Glock-from-LAPD-museum hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB

What kind of grip is this?

This model 15 is on display at the LAPD museum in LA, CA. Does anyone know what brand of grip this is on the revolver? Model-15-grips hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB Model-15-grip-2 hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB

Shipping a gun back to S&W

A thing I don't understand is, FedEx now seems to have a policy that a regular person cannot ship guns through them. Shipping guns must be done via an FFL. See here: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/shipping/how-to-ship-firearms.html But then when I called S&W to have a gun shipped to them for...

Does model 15-10 Classics really exist?

I get the impression that not many at all were produced. It would seem to me that you have a very rare item. Might that not become valuable one day? Feel free to post a picture of it if you get a chance...

Did Model 15-3 have red ramp sight?

Good catch. These posts have very much reduced my desire to acquire that revolver.

Does model 15-10 Classics really exist?

There are some posts on this forum about that revolver (do a search for 150716). They seem to indicate that very few were made. One person said that we would not see any more .357 K-frames, a prediction that turned out to be wildly false. Given how scarce this model is, it could be that anyone...

Does model 15-10 Classics really exist?

Yes, if you look at the picture of it, it looks just like a Model 19. I think it's just a Model 19 that you can't put a 357 Magnum in.

Does model 15-10 Classics really exist?

i was wondering if anyone has ever seen the Model 15-10 Classics S&W revolver? There was a Classics model 15 listed on their website from about 2011-2013 SKU#150716, but I have never in my life seen it listed on Gunbroker or any other gun sale sight, and I have never seen one for sale used at a...

Did Model 15-3 have red ramp sight?

There is a model 15, I believe it's a -3, for sale at a gun store near me. The sight has one of those orange inserts that are on the new Classics models. Did those exist on models as old as 15-3, or is it safe to assume that this gun has some sort of aftermarket sight added? Picture...

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

If you get a chance to try them on the model 10, let us know how it works. It seems they fit on some guns, and don't fit on others.

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

I have read many reviews of these grips where people say the same thing: they try to contact the manufacturer about the fit problem and are greeted with condescension or dismissiveness.

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

Based on everything I've heard and read from people who had the same problem, it looks like the solution you suggest is the only one there is.

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

The screw that came with the grips I have are thin in the middle, but even so, I still cannot get it on. The mainspring still pushes it over too far. I tried two different grips, one brand new, and one an older one from ebay with no medallion, and they both had the same screw that was thin in...

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

It is strange. I know that the grips fit some people's K frames, but I guess revolvers are different enough that they fit some, and not others. Who woulda thought? Now the grips I have are also Trausch, except without the "u" and without the "c."

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

That is an excellent suggestion. I did in fact check and it does say "Round K"

Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

Well apparently that entire model is defective. I tried two separate grips. One was a new one, and the second was an old used one from ebay which was in good condition. I thought that maybe the old ones were made better and would fit fine, but nope, I had the exact same problem with both grips.
