Getting Pachmayr Gripper Grip onto model 19

Has anyone figured out how to get a Pachmayr Gripper grip for round butt K frames (#03266) onto a new model 19-9 in those cases where the mainspring blocks the screw hole? Some reviews of that grip complain that the mainspring is in the way of the screw, and the grip cannot be installed. If...

Colt revolvers: new vs old in size?

I don't think the new Cobras are like the Detective Special in size at all. I have seen the new Cobra touted as being a reincarnation of the DS, but I have one old DS from 1952 and a new Cobra, and I don't see them as being alike very much at all. The new Cobra is bulkier and thicker than a...

    Model 12

Do you mean a new Colt Cobra, like from 2017, or an old Colt Cobra from back in the day?

Did model 15 come with target grips?

Did model 15 revolvers ever come with the large wooden target grips? Or did they always have the smaller magna grips only? I saw a model 15 at a gun store the other day, and it had the large target grips, and I thought, those probably aren't the original grips. Could those grips have been...

Brand New model 67 for sale

I find it interesting that guns dot com has a brand new model 67 for sale, even though that model has been discontinued for a few years now. Is it coming back or something? I would totally buy it if I had an extra $1675 lying around. I've always fantasized about owning a brand new model 15...

    M&P Shield 9mm 2.0 with thumb safety-discontinued?

Am I right that the M&P Shield 2.0 9mm with thumb safety SKU 11806 has been discontinued? It does not seem to exist anywhere on S&W's website. There does not seem to have been any sort of announcement or anything, it's just gone.

    Abbreviations in 1961 handgun catalog

I actually bought a reproduction of the 1961 Smith & Wesson catalog on ebay, thinking maybe that was the one. That wasn't it, though. It seems to be some kind of general handgun catalog, not just a S&W catalog.

    Abbreviations in 1961 handgun catalog

Those are great guesses. Unfortunately, unless we can figure out what handgun catalog that is, and dig up a copy, we may never know.

    Abbreviations in 1961 handgun catalog

Does anyone have any idea what the abbreviations "Dh," "Hh," and "Tc" in this 1961 handgun catalog are supposed to mean? (see attached photo)

    Muzzle damage to Model 19

That's how they make them these days. Check out the dude in this video. He has the same exact model, and he'll show you the muzzle at about 9:51 and other spots I'm surprised a new 686 didn't get the same treatment. I guess it only applies to the "Classics" series...

    Muzzle damage to Model 19

It seems everyone was right. It was a bunch of lead fouling. I cleaned the gun real good and it is basically gone now. I did not expect lead fouling there because I have only seen it in the barrel. What's more, I do clean the gun fairly regularly, and I never use bullets with exposed lead in...

    Muzzle damage to Model 19

I hope that's what it is. I'm going to do a cleaning soon and see if it comes off. But it looks like actual damage to me, because I have never seen fouling that shows up on the muzzle.

    Muzzle damage to Model 19

There seems to be some damage/scratching on the muzzle of my Model 19 Classic, which I just bought new about 3.5 years ago. (see the attached photo) I'm talking about that scratching that goes all the way around the edge of the bore. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I just noticed...

When to adjust sights on a revolver?

Thanks, that is a terrific suggestion.

When to adjust sights on a revolver?

Yes, I'm getting a big ragged hole with my model 19 (along with a few more flinchies and fliers surrounding it than I would like), but it's to the right of the bullseye, which makes me think, maybe it's sight adjustment time...

When to adjust sights on a revolver?

Yes, everything in my model 19 is a little to the right, so I wonder, should I adjust the sights, or just practice so I can shoot better?

When to adjust sights on a revolver?

I was wondering, if you have a revolver with adjustable sights, say a model 15 or a model 19, when would you actually take advantage of that feature and adjust the sights? I.e., what circumstances or situation might require you to get the screwdriver out and change the sight picture?

Should I get new grips on Model 36?

That's because I'm embarrassed to say, but I will tell you it was a lot less than 20 yards :( But I will also add that with my other guns, like S&W 19 or Glock, and even a new Colt Cobra, I am able to shoot ragged little holes in a paper ... So this particular gun is just harder to shoot, I...

Should I get new grips on Model 36?

I just ordered a set of gripper grips so hopefully I too will be able to achieve that level of marksmanship.
