Am I right that the M&P Shield 2.0 9mm with thumb safety SKU 11806 has been discontinued? It does not seem to exist anywhere on S&W's website. There does not seem to have been any sort of announcement or anything, it's just gone.

I actually bought a reproduction of the 1961 Smith & Wesson catalog on ebay, thinking maybe that was the one. That wasn't it, though. It seems to be some kind of general handgun catalog, not just a S&W catalog.

Those are great guesses. Unfortunately, unless we can figure out what handgun catalog that is, and dig up a copy, we may never know.

That's how they make them these days. Check out the dude in this video. He has the same exact model, and he'll show you the muzzle at about 9:51 and other spots I'm surprised a new 686 didn't get the same treatment. I guess it only applies to the "Classics" series...

It seems everyone was right. It was a bunch of lead fouling. I cleaned the gun real good and it is basically gone now. I did not expect lead fouling there because I have only seen it in the barrel. What's more, I do clean the gun fairly regularly, and I never use bullets with exposed lead in...

I hope that's what it is. I'm going to do a cleaning soon and see if it comes off. But it looks like actual damage to me, because I have never seen fouling that shows up on the muzzle.

There seems to be some damage/scratching on the muzzle of my Model 19 Classic, which I just bought new about 3.5 years ago. (see the attached photo) I'm talking about that scratching that goes all the way around the edge of the bore. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I just noticed...

Yes, I'm getting a big ragged hole with my model 19 (along with a few more flinchies and fliers surrounding it than I would like), but it's to the right of the bullseye, which makes me think, maybe it's sight adjustment time...
