Oneye, Bought the same gas block as you. Have yet to install it as I cant decied on which front sight to go with. With the price of the magpul, if it does melt...oh well. Sounds like our shooting styles are the same, I rarely go apesh*t with it.

I'm with JaPes. Go quad rail. I know you're going to hang a light off of it anyway, even if you didn't mention it in your original post :D Finish it off with the grip pod and you got pretty much everything you want.

No issues at all. As mentioned before, a good cleaning is needed afterward...but, I hope you'd do that anyway.

I run a forward grip and a bipod on my "carbine length" UTG quad rail and there is plenty of room. The bipod I have is quick disconnect...takes two seconds to remove it.

I've only got 500 rounds down range, and have had no issues with mine. Aside from the usual grumblings of; "it has no forward assist or dust cover", I am not aware of any real issues. Absolutely love mine.

Lack of forward assist and dust cover means nothing to me at this point. Great entry level AR and a great price. I love mine.
