Isn't this getting out of hand??

As a small business owner, I was bombarded with offers for those loans. I did not participate, was business as usual the entire time .

    Kudos to USPS

Package mail moves much better east<>west than it does north<>south. That has been my observation for many years, many packages.

    Humor at the Toyota dealer

I had and loved a Tundra with the big V8, Drove it for 7 years and traded it at the height of covid and got within a few hundred bucks of what I paid for it. Plus at the time it needed tires and a bit of body work! The dealership had it sold before it hit the lot. I still miss it at times but...

    Another reason not to fly

I fly several times a year to visit friends and family, my only requirement is a direct flight. Many years ago at the old Denver airport missed my connecting flight after basically running from one end to the other with 2 kids in tow. But my luggage made the flight! Then a few years ago spending...

    Pocket Knife Restrictions

I would never consider carrying an Italian style switchblade due to the failure of the safety and the protruding deployment button as some of you have had the bad experience. This is what I carry, not cheap, but in my opinion well worth it. It is a Benchmade Autocrat DA/OTF, spine fire, 3.71 in...

Taking care of our feathered friends.

The long dry spell here broke this past weekend. I don't have a bird bath but I put water out in shallow bowl that had a proper top edge for the birds to perch on to drink, and the squirrels were happy to use it too.

American Currency- Not Good in America

I have always considered the CC fees as a cost of doing business. The monthly fees are far better than a pile of bad checks at the end of the year like I used to get.

American Currency- Not Good in America

Numerous local businesses here today would have had to close there doors if they didn't accept cash. Some sort of internet/card processing issue. I use a CC most of the time but if the business adds a % for using a card, I pay cash. I always carry a certain amount of cash.

First Hunting Trip in Fifteen years

Safe travels and good luck! There's nothing quite like seeing a good bird dog work a field for quail (or pheasant). Any of those fine Brownings should get the job done.

    Medicare ripoff

I stated my reason, I use a local small-town clinic for the yearly Medicare Wellness check and that is about all. Anything else I go to Mayo Clinic and they accept only a very few contracted Medicare Advantage plans. Nothing has to be pre-approved is another reason. Also, I travel a lot...

What do you do that would be considered cheap?

I get a lot of my clothes from thrift stores and the clearance racks at Wallyworld. One of the local churches has a free clothing room, it is always packed with donated clothes. Earlier this week I donated 2 boxes of clothing and left with 2 pair of jeans and 2 sweaters. One of the sweaters...

    Medicare ripoff

I do not have a Medicare Advantage plan, never will. Why? Mayo Clinic does not accept most plans, only a few select that they have contracted with. Originally they accepted none. When my late hubby turned 65 he was already diagnosed with a State 4 cancer. I had been contacted directly by...

Road trip? Better take your own food

Cracker Barrel, never again, after somewhere in AZ getting GREEN scrambled eggs. Denny's, pass McDonalds, maybe, if I'm wanting some quick fries. I do usually pack a cooler with some sandwiches and fruit.

Will anyone regret not buying gold at $2,270 ?

Interesting coincidence, gold opened today at $2720. Currently up $25. I sold a little of my stash when it hit $2500. Next target was $2750. Think I'll wait. Most of this was accumulated in the 1990's when gold was averaging around $300.
