You would be correct. Red dots were never intended to replace iron sights.

Coincidentally, I shot a Henry this past weekend. Was a 357 tactical model with open sights. Eight plus one rounds and accurate as heck. I was impressed. About $900. I want one. But not the tactical model. ;)
