    Lower POI .45 Colt question.

IMO unless you are going to commit to using that 1 load and only that load I don't usually like modifying the front sight. Once you take off the material it is very difficult to build it back up again. Above I said a lighter bullet will shoot higher. If you want to keep using the same bullet if...

    303 British Load

OK, I have an Enfield in 303 British and I have several loads which work fairly well. I have a few pounds of a powder I'm not using for anything else right now and would like to use in for the 303. BL-C(2). Normally I would go through the usual process to develop a good and accurate load but...

    Yet ANOTHER 45 Colt ?

I highly suggest a heavy roll crimp when shooting BP or a substitute. You want the bullet to remain in place long enough for the powder to fully ignite.

    45 LC question

I used to use nothing buy W231 for cast bullets in the 45 Colt until I tried HS6. Now I will only use HS-6. I charge 10.2gr HS-6 under a 250/255gr cast bullet with a magnum primer. It's not exactly a plinking load but not too hot especially for a Blackhawk.

    Lower POI .45 Colt question.

A lighter bullet will raise the POI.

Recommended loads for 38 DA Break Top 38 S&W

IMO a charge of 2.7gr W231 is a little high for a top break revolver. I would not go over 2.5gr. A small change in a short case like the 38 S&W makes a big difference.

Factory 44spl /44 magnum going prices

You're being a good friend but I can understand his reluctance. How about you invite him over and show him how to load what he needs. If he pulls the handle he might be more at ease plus you are not responsible for anything that might go wrong. (even though the chance is slight)

Recommended loads for 38 DA Break Top 38 S&W

    I use a 145/146gr LRN bullet over 2.2gr to 2.5gr W231 for 38 S&W ammo. I would not go lighter than a 2.2gr charge.

    .38 Long Colt in Philippines

IMO the drugs that were flowing through the bodies on the Moros was the main problem. The anemic .38 Colt round with the round nose bullet also added to the problem. The 45's made a much bigger hole and the bullet weight aided in stopping them before they were able to chop up the soldiers.

.44 Special Loads For a Rainy Day

I have not found W231 to be position sensitive. I use it in many handgun cartridges including the .38 Special and .45 Colt.

It's obviously the broker had no idea what he had. The usual price is about $29/20 rounds. (if you can find them) You did amazingly well.

    45 Auto Rim primer installation

I use a handheld RCBS primer for many years. It's not the universal, it's the one which uses shell holders. I don't think the shell holders are a problem since I already have them for loading the cases. I also have one of the older Lee handheld primers which works very well as a backup. I would...

    If you had to shoot a Black Bear;

I will say it again, if charged by a bear who is obviously intent on doing you harm shoot at the snout. The brain is directly behind the snout. Even if you hit the shoulder the charging bear can use it's momentum to get to you and probably do extreme damage before it becomes immobile or dies...

    Garand clips

High pressure is a good indication the ammo is not suitable for use in a Garand. I get a hint you thought I was nitpicking above. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was only trying to keep everyone's M1 safe, nothing more. What I was getting at was, if you load a 30-06 round with a...
