I agree with the above, keep them. If the day comes when you need them the sticker shock in the future will knock you out lol. Unless you need funds right now, keep them because there will always be a market in the future.

I'm glad to hear you got the bullet out with no damage to your gun. A 5.5gr charge of AA#5 really isn't that light a charge as to cause a squib. I'm guessing the primer somehow didn't do it's job or you didn't have any powder in that case and the primer almost got the bullet out of the barrel...

I always thought there was no way of achieving the velocity they get without being over pressure. No matter how you blend powders you can't get around physics. If the above is accurate that proves out my theory.

There are a handful.of powders that will do as good a job in those cartridges but IMO AA#7 will probably make you happy. (unfortunately HS-7 is also discontinued which was GREAT for those applications)

I never did say the prices would go to X, I said I hope they go to X. Last time I saw, HS-6 was still being made by St. Marks Powders and yes, HS-6 and W540 are the same powder. W571 was the same as HS-7 too.

Are Buffalo Bore and Underwood SAAMI compliant companies? It's not required to sell ammo.
