    What's you're preferred lead remover?

    The fine steel wool will also "lightly" polish the forcing cone area and bore of new guns. One recent magazine article recommended using it to remove leading from barrel.

    Thanks, I will soon recut my 45 Long Colt Blackhawk to 5 degrees also. According to Brownell's this Blackhwak has the classic 10 or 11 degree cone from the factory. 357 Ruger revolvers have a 5 degree forcing cone from factory.

    TIN STAR is best, but not cheapest. It shoots more accurately than Bullseye and gives lower velocity spread. Fills case better also.

    Kroil and 0000 extra fine steel wool wrapped around loose fitting bore brush. Be very careful around crown area of barrel. I insert brush from forcing cone then scub bore , then exit muzzle crown.
