Wood finished and care for 1930’s Circassian Walnut stocks?

I know less about everything everyday. And I never knew anything about S&W's stock finishes from the 1930's. The late Roy Fishpaw, who was a suberb gripmaker of natural materials, used to recommend Howard Feed-N-Wax Wood Preserver for care of grips he made. I shoot the guns I own with his...

3.5” 27-2 (but what are these stocks?)

They could be Sile, but that's just a guess. Pictures of the inside of the stocks might help.

    27-2 8 3/8" Opinions

I love mine. Due to the small bore size and tapered barrel, I don't find it unwieldy for offhand shooting, and the longer barrel helps with both recoil and noise.

    Miss marked Freaks

For the OP; is your barrel actually bored for .44's? If I was smarter I could pick up on that from the pictures, I believe. But I yam what I yam as a great philosopher used to say.

    PC SW22 Target Pistol

"It appears that S&W no longer offeres a fiber wrapped barrel." Somewhat off topic, but did S&W offer a carbon fiber wrapped barrel for these? I don't keep up with much these days. However, if anyone wants to give me a free one, that would be swell.

    What are these grips?

I don't know who made them, but I have a very similar style of grips, made of maple with rosewood or walnut diamond inserts. I bought them from a fellow member, and if my spotty memory is correct, he didn't know who made them either. They are also checkered on the bottom of the grip. They're...

Washout walk-in theater, Andersen AFB Guam

I know this post will have a limited audience, but who else wants to hear an old dude ramble? :) At least here I can't tell if you're bored. :p The Air Force Base on the island of Guam had a regular theater, and a smaller, outdoor and uncovered walk-in theater we called the Washout, because...

    Fentanyl deaths dropping significantly

"That’s it ? Really ? NARCAN and drug lords doing the right thing ? Nobody else is going to get any credit ? That’s curious" Partly it's that people, even heavy drug users, aren't generally that stupid. They see the effects and modify their behaviour. The same thing happened with crack...

How best to sell most of my guns.

I'm not fond of the whole shipping/banking thing, but selling them on a forum is definitely the way to make some money, and see them go to good homes. I've decided that I'm just going to announce a giveaway, and have NC residents drive by my house. I'll just throw one through the car windows...

An "A" after the serial number means it used to belong to Fonzie. :p
