Thanks Rastoff for the info and pics. I like having the safety on when re-holstering. I use it. Like Slingn said, it is a matter of training and practice. It is instinctive for me to thumb the safety off after drawing. Trigger finger discipline is always a priority.
I carry two 5 round quik strips and two extra rounds in the small pouch from Tuff Products on my belt at 8 o"clock. My 637-2 is either in a Fobus paddle at 4 o'clock or in an Uncle Mikes in my right front pocket.
I carry a 637-2 Airweight Chiefs Special. I'm an old shool kind of guy; I like the exposed hammer. The Airweights are probably the lowest price of the J-frames. I carry in a pocket holster during warm weather and in a Fobius when clothing permits. Good luck and enjoy which ever model you select.
I carry a 637-2 Airweight 24/7. Depending on attire I either carry in an Uncle Mike's #4 or a Fobus paddle holster. Agree with previous comments about exercising caution when drawing from pocket by covering hammer with thumb. Practice when home alone with an unloaded weapon for perfection. I...
I carry a Airweight 637-2 99% of the time. If I'm dressed where I can't I have an LCP. I feel better having the 38 spl +p's. I don't feel the need to go to war; just defend my family or myself for the remote possibility of something bad happening. I always try to be aware of my surroundings.
A lot of posts on this forum complained about recoil, especially with +p's. I have a 637-2 Airweight that I am absolutely happy with. Hope this helps. I've learned a lot from this forum. Good luck.
After reading many posts on this forum, I ordered two 50 round boxes of Speer 135 gr. +P JHP SB from Ammunition To Go. I placed my order Saturday on their website; I received my order today. Fantastic service and great prices. I chime in with others and highly recommend this fine company. I'm...
I just received my new Fobus paddle holster for my 637-2 Airweight. I really very happy with it. It rides close to the body and conceals well. If one follows the directions on how to draw it works flawlessly. It holds the gun securely.
Thanks akviper and Steve C. I was raised to clean my guns after each day of shooting. From your responses, if I clean the bore with a brass brush, that should keep fouling from occurring. Thanks again.
I'm an old school kind of guy with a question. I've always preferred jacketed hollow points to keep leading down in the barrel. I shoot a 637-2 Airweight. Preferred ammo is not always available. My question is: if I shoot regular lead hollow points should I be concerned about fowling my barrel...
After retiring, I have finally purchased my dream gun; a 637-2 Chief's Special Airweight. Since retiring I have obtained my CCW. The snubbie rides well in my front pocket in a Uncle Mike's #4 pocket holster. I have ordered a Fobus paddle holster and Tuff Products Quik Strips and a belt pouch...
