How Do I Determine What to Use on Sporting Clays?

I too used IC/IC. I often read that modern shot cups actually make an IC perform with a tighter pattern. Go to a Mod choke it will be closer to Full choke. One has to pattern the chokes for the range one will most encounter when shooting. I always felt IC was the best choice for me.

He danced around in circles yelling and screaming about shoulder gone missing. Fine dance he did, I think it rained for 2 days. I sold mine after u got an...

    Magnum Research Rifle

Never saw a magnum research rifle. Read about them. I once had a large number of Weatherbys. Mostly German. I had 4 in 340 Wby. I liked to shoot it over the Wby 300 as the 340 had more if a push like a 375 H&H vs the high speed recoil of the 300. When u sold the Ways u kept 1, an early G erman...

Scopes, you get what you pay for.

For you folks mounting old school scopes on older rifles don't forget the Lyman series. Dad put a 4 x Lyman All American on his pre 64 and took it off when he could no longer see the cross hairs, they had one cross hair option that was super thin. When Dad was young and I was a knee high...

Scopes, you get what you pay for.

Follow up; I'd have to physically count the number of Leupolds I have. Quite a few. I have an old Redfield wide field 3x9 from the mid 60's on my Weatherby MK V in 300 WBY. The scope was put on the gun when both were new. It still works great. The new Redfield Revenge I bought does not have...

I traded into an FN 300 MAg. Bought a Redfield Revenge scope for it. Opening day of Ks deer season it was very overcast. Saw 2 deer with 10 minutes of legal shooting time left. I could not make out heads or tails. My Wife was using my Kimber 84 in 7mm-08 with a midrange nikon on it. She was...
