If I was that far into a 15 year note, I wouldn't touch it unless I had reason to think the current payment was going to become a burden to meet. There are better investment strategies, but the one thing better than a lower mortgage payment, is no mortgage payment!

I am toying with idea of a trip to S&W for a re-blue, but at the same time the current condition has it's merits as something you can keep handy in the house or vehicle and not agonize over. I know there was about 13 in this "litter". I am curious to see what everyone ended up with?

I got to pick up the Mod 43 I purchased from Jerry in SC today. It was my first time to lay hands on a 43. I am pretty impressed;its light as feather(the shipping box felt empty!) The 3.5" barrel with target sights make for a dandy trail gun. I am surprised this model didn't catch on.

A couple of pics of the "new to me" Mod 10-8. Not much to look at, but if I can get used to the fixed sights it seems to be pretty well dead on with 158grn LSWC. Makes a great utility gun to have around.

Just picked up my Mod 10-8 that I purchased from GlockNsgt last week. I am pleased with the lock-up,bore, and very sweet trigger. Headed out back to run a few rounds through it. Pics to follow.

I bought one of correctional facilty trade-in Model 10-8's . Gun is in great mechanical shape and got shipped out to me within hours of making the deal. Lee is a pro and it shows in the way he conducts business.

Weapon arrived in better than advertised condition and Jerry provided tracking numbers and shipping updates. Couldn't ask for a better seller to deal with.

Now I know why I don't see many 51's around; Kitman has them all!

I paid 575 a little over a year ago for mine new. They are asking $675 now and don't have them in stock..worth every penny..buy and when you shoot it..you will smile!

Just curious as to everyone's experience with these? I am waiting on shipments from both USPS and UPS, in both cases the seller says the items were shipped and the carriers website says shipping was ordered and the item is waiting to be picked up?

They are harder to shoot; smaller grips, lighter weight, shorter sight distance, and "rounded" sights. With target sights and some type of rest they will group with anything else.

IMHO, a 4" 686 is hard to beat as an all round gun.
