    What Happened To This Hammer?

The hammer pictured above is in a drawer as an extra parts donor.

    NYPD SV series #SV812246

I have SV812256. Pretty close to your new gun, but a different shipment to Tryon in Phily.

Standing in one of those long lines at Oakland Army Depot you knew your time was coming. The medics would wipe the blood off those contraptions every now and then. It amazing Hep-C didn't run rampant through those troops.

I still have the pen gun I carried back then. Extra 38 special rounds were carried (by me) loose in the pocket of my flack jacket.

Holy Molly, a 28-2 With Cokes

Didn't sell much this weekend but this, among others, walked in. This S prefix from ~1964 was wearing some beautiful cokes. Essentially I got the cokes really cheap and the gun for free. I put some Kim Ahrends targets on it until some pre-68 diamond targets come along. The cokes need a...

A 25-5 Shows Up at the Show Yesterday

An old friend was helping someone he knows clear out an estate and this was among the guns. I had to replace the hammer (all that drama in The Smithing section). As usual my photography skills don't do it justice. I wanted a full target hammer but this will have to do.

    What Happened To This Hammer?

Well, that pin was not even a pin. Looks like a piece of wire. The DA sear had been filed on as well so I tried to replace it with a NEW sear, spring and pin but my tremors would not let me. I have some really pretty K hammers but I do have a N hammer with decent case colors so in it went...

    What Happened To This Hammer?

No abnormal rubbing on the side plate. SA holds well with no push off. I just put the side plate back on and SA is crisp while DA still has that rough feel. The DA sear pin moves with the side plate off but I don't think it can come out with the plate on. I'm between "shoot it and watch it"...

    What Happened To This Hammer?

Picked up a 25-5 yesterday and disassembled it for a good cleaning and this is what I found. !: Someone sanded the forward edge of the hammer (right side only), and 2: The double action sear looks to be forward from normal. The scratch by it's pin indicates it was removed at some time...

    Anybody Here Win Something at...

Not surprising Bob. I see mis-ID'ed guns all the time, even with the big boys. The bargains on some of the lesser known auction houses are out there.

    OK, Who Got the 4" K32 ?

That nickel K312 looks kike a beautiful example. Congratulations on being the new owner. It would have been a great companion to my blue K32 Masterpiece.

    PDW's

Ok, I guess a PS90 would count. I'd rather have the P90 variant but this one is very fast semi-auto, and you get 50 rounds off before you reload.

    Legit 2" U. S. 10-5

As I have mentioned in the past my first issue in VN was a Victory model. My second unit issued me a model 10 of some sort. Both were 4" square butt. Issue ammo was the junk 130 gr. FMJ. I also carried 6 38 special tracers in case I ran out of pen gun flares. If you went down you always had...

I see the 4 pack of Winstons and I think I see a whole pack of Lucky Strikes. The PX usually had a pretty good selection. I smoked Old Gold but they did not come in C-rats.

London to New York in One Hour, Mach 5

Then there is the sonic boom...boom. Living next to WPAFB in the 60's when SAC was there, the noise would rattle the dishes. That was before they banned SS flight over most of CONUS. There is no one to bother flying over the ocean.
