Pre-29 coming home - Update with some pics in Post 31

Congratulations A10! The five and four screw 44 Magnums are my favorites. I hope maybe you will share some more photos after you get it home.

    4 Screw Pre 29

Here is a 6.5 inch 44 Magnum shipped the same year and month as yours (July 1958). This is the type of case your revolver was likely shipped in.

If You Could Only Own One Smith & Wesson… What Would It Be?

The 6.5 inch five screw on the left.........or maybe the 4 inch five screw on the right. It would be very difficult to make a decision but I lean towards the 6.5 inch. Both are like new and possibly unfired since leaving the factory. My reason for choosing a 44 Magnum five screw is collector...

Would I buy another Ruger MK4

Glad you are happy with your MK4. The Volquartsen parts are expensive but I believe they elevate this pistols performance. Especially the trigger upgrade.

    MEMES

I had a friend and coworker who was this guy. I sometimes looked forward to meetings he was involved in. Sadly, he has passed on. Miss you Doug.

My First Year Model 57 Collection

Since this is a model 57 thread, do any other model 57 fans wish S&W had made these early 6" revolvers with a 6.5" barrel? It is a subtle difference, but I think that extra 1/2" of barrel length just looks right.

My First Year Model 57 Collection

Really nice collection Gun Relics. Thank you for showing them to us. The .41 Magnum chambered in the S&W model 57 is a great revolver. I've been a long time fan of the .41 Magnum after an older friend, who has since passed away, introduced me to it. I hope to some day find a blued 4 inch...

I display some of my favorites in a Case Knife counter display case. I pinned the green felt on the shelves. The turtles on the bottom shelf are slate turkey calls.

Esmeralda stocks for my Ruger MK III

The checkering on mine hide some of the wood grain, but they feel good in the hand. Your Hogue panel looks so nice it would almost be a shame to mask it with checkering.

Esmeralda stocks for my Ruger MK III

Just received these checkered stocks made from cocobolo wood by Esmeralda. Her work is very nice and I think they dress-up my Ruger from the factory black plastic panels. She has other styles for Ruger MK II & III rimfires, but the simple fully checkered stocks suit the purpose I use this...

    New Ruger MK4 Paper Puncher

My RuQuartsen has many of the same parts as yours and is one of my favorites for just knocking about the woods. I ordered a set of fully checkered stocks from Esmeralda just to dress it up a little. They are supposed to arrive today. I hope you enjoy your new pistol.

    Target 22 Selection ( Follow UP )

Pete, if the stove pipe issues keep reoccurring after a break-in period on your pistol, I would recommend purchasing an Volquartsen Exact Edge extractor. The cost is minimal and this part took care of stove pipe issues on my MK III. You will be amazed at the quality of the part compared to the...
