Need to find a couple parts for my top break .32

I am hoping to find a hammer and a pin for my .32 top break Smith and Wesson. I sent it off to a gun smith who didn't complete the work and it was returned without the hammer and the rear pin above the trigger guard. I am hoping that someone here might have an idea where I should look or...

Looking at lever action rifles in 45C

I have a Beretta 1873 like those in your picture but with a blued reciever, checkered wood and a shotgun style butt plate. It is all SASS'ed up and has been shot in 50 or so matches. Mine runs like a top but others have had head space problems with the factory installed short stroke kit. Jay

Looking at lever action rifles in 45C

If I were a black powder shooter I would be a big .44-40 fan. I would have to believe that the shoulder in the .44-40 case would make a better seal. I can tell you from experience that sub sonic .45 lc loads do soot up pretty good and you definately wouldn't want to discharge rounds without...

Looking at lever action rifles in 45C

There were some 1860s re-designed with King's modification. The barrels were swapped out, the magazine tubes were dove tailed to the barrels and the right side was modified to have a loading gate. The carrier would have been modified too for loading through the side instead of the muzzle end of...

OMG! That is very cool. Can I have dibs on it if you decide to sell it? Jay

    Wife friendly .44 Special load

Oh one more tip. Use a Lee factory crimp die for a good, consistant seal. This will increase your potential for accuracy over a taper crimp with such a light load. Jay

    Wife friendly .44 Special load

I am a Cowboy Action Shooter and I shoot .44 Ruger Bisleys. I load both .44 Specials and .44 Russian rounds for matches. I use Titegroup powder and Federal Magnum primers. The bullet that I like is a 185 grain round nose, flat point. I load the Russian cases at 3.5 grains and when I am loading...

    22 ammo in further decline?

I hope gun makers put pressue on the ammo makers to make more. I have been in a position to buy a couple different .22lr guns and just before I decide to go through with the purchase common sense stops me and makes me ask the clerk if the have ammo. So far they have said no and I back out of the...

    Reloading primer pickup tubes...

I use a RCBS flip tray and peck away at it. I have 6 Dillon small primer tubes and I can fill them all in 10 minutes or less. I know a couple of guys who have the Dillon tube filler and they complain of backwards primers all the time. Jay

629-2 Classic Hunter trade for cowboy gun

I empty'ed my pm box. Sorry about that pard. I wanted to add that both the .44s are Bisleys. One is a 4 5/8 and the other is a 5 1/2. Both are blued. You wouldn't by chance have a blued 3 1/2 .45 Vaquero? If you did I could up the anti with a trade for two 5 1/2 stainless Bisley Vaqueros. Jay

629-2 Classic Hunter trade for cowboy gun

I am a cowboy action shooter too and I have about 5 extra Rugers in the safe that you might be interested in. I do have a couple of .44 Vaqueros, 2 50th Blackhawks that are super smooth and they have won quiet a few matches if .38/ .357 would work for you. Pm me if you are interested in further...

Tell me about the 66 model.

I keep seeing a lot of 66's here and I wonder if I need to add one to the collection. I have 342, 586 and 686 and I am starting to feel like I need to add to my .38/.357 mix. Why should I start the search for a 66? Jay

Lets see your deer slaying revolver

Oh, one more thing. When Dave Clements had it he did a lot of detailing on the finish. So much so that when I showed it to one of my gun loving friends he initially thought it was a Freedom Arms. ;) Jay

Lets see your deer slaying revolver

Yes it is. Started out as a badly neglected Super Blackhawk 7 1/2. The front sight had been cut off and a Marbles rifle sight had been crudely dove tailed into the base the rear sight was missing and the hammer looked like a dog with carbide teeth had been chewing on it. I sent it to Dave with...
