    Gun show report

Sir, just because you keep telling me something doesn't make it so. W231 @$192/8 lbs is a phenomenal price! $24/lb is the price W231 was back in 2008-2010. (I think that was the years) I am wondering why the W231 was less expensive than HP-38? That is reversed from the usual but still a good...

    Sticker Shock!!

Yes, I bought a lb. of W244 and W572 soon after they came out. I find W244 to be very similar to W231 but slightly cleaner with Hi-Tek coated bullets. I never thought I would say this but if for some reason W231 were discontinued I can make due with W244 even though I feel it's slight slower...

    Sticker Shock!!

Ah yes, the original powder trinity, Bullseye, Unique and 2400. My powder trinity is slightly different: W231/HP-38 W540/HS-6 (of course W540 is discontinued) W296/H100

    Underwood 38+P 158SWCHP for 38/44 HD

That label doesn't say Federal. That looks like a remanufactured ammo. Neither Federal or Winchester or Remington even put gas checks on their FBI load. I have boxes of all 3 and have shot them for many years. I never saw one with a gas check. Just be sure of what you are buying before you...

32-20 Win reman ammo in a 102 yr old revolver?

@Brooks, calm down. If you look on that site that same load is listed under the handgun ammo too. Without calling or writing them you can't be sure if they tested the ammo in a long barrel or a shorted handgun barrel. You can't make assumptions without fact so please relax.

    Lead Handgun Bullets?

I didn't check them all but I did check the 44 Magnum SWC bullets and MB was on 50¢ more for the lot of 500 bullets.

    Gun show report

Hopefully powders will come down to ~$30/lb. I highly doubt primers will ever be $30/K again but I'm hoping for $40/K.

While rotating is a good idea you should feel lucky to even have any on the shelf. I TRY to rotate the stock but it doesn't always happen lol.

    357 W231 load

Using W231 will be OK if you have nothing else but while W231 is one of my favorite powders I don't use it for magnum loads. I use HS-6 or W296 for .357 Magnum loads. Those 2 powders let me load from medium power to.full.power loads.

    Odd 308 Ammo

If that's true you might want to pull the bullets and reuse them while tossing the brass into the scrap bucket. The powder can be used on the 4th of July or in the garden. Not bad for free...

    Lead Handgun Bullets?

I have no doubt they make good bullets but their prices are within 50¢ to $1 of that from Missouri Bullets. I just checked Summers Enterprises and they are only offering 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP bullets right now. Missouri Bullets is offering 17 different calibers both lead and Hi-Tek coated...

32-20 Win reman ammo in a 102 yr old revolver?

You see, I'm not the only one suggesting this ammo. I made the same suggestion in Post #20. I agree with the above, that round will be very safe in your gun and not over stress the barrel.

Newly Purchased Model 1905 May Have Been Stolen **GUN WAS DELIVERED****

I'm very happy to see you got your gun. It looks great, I think you made a good buy. For at least 10 years now everyone I deal with when sending or receiving guns warn against using UPS. (big companies too like Clark Custom recommend FEDEX) They quote excessive theft. IMO FEDEX is the only...

32-20 Win reman ammo in a 102 yr old revolver?

If it were me I would be shooting Black Hills cowboy action ammo in my 32-20. They sell a 115gr LFN bullet round @800 fps. I'm sure that will be kinder to your revolver than jacketed bullet ammo.

    Lead Handgun Bullets?

Guys, please get back on topic. The OP isn't asking anything about casting bullets so we don't need to discuss that in this thread. Give the OP suggestions on where to buy and why. Thank you...

    357 magnum defensive ammo

I thought the Silver bullets were for Werewolves ... :p Slight OT My wife loves horror films. She saw a box of LaserCast bullets on my loading bench and it has the words, "The silver bullets" written on it. Well, my wife has a fairly good sense of humor so she runs upstairs yelling...

    Lead Handgun Bullets?

I'm also a big fan of Missouri Bullets and have been for many years. The bullets are high quality, the prices are fair and they are very nice people to deal with. I load their I load their 38/357 bullets, their 38 S&W bullets, 9mm bullets, 45 ACP & 45 Colt bullets as well as their .309" bullets...

Another Question On Primers for .30 Carbine

That is absolutely incorrect! While the size dimensions are the same the cup thickness is not. CCI-550 primers have a cup thickness of .017" while the CCI-400 primers have a cup thickness of .020". They are NOT the same and the pistol primers should not be used in place of the rifle primers but...
