    rm question To clarify, none of the following: box, cert, grip adapter....nothing but the 99% condition (all original) pistol. It does however wear a 5" barrel now that I have looked more closely and the initial excitement has worn off. I am still on the bubble but only have until the morning...

    reg mag - questions sights same color as pistol as best I could tell. Magna grips. no evidence/re-finish marks. It is possible it was a 6.5" barrel not 6. I appreciate all input so far.

    What say the experts? I have opportunity buy a 4" 617-1 or -4 (10 shot). Both are 99 plus %, the -4 has box -1 does not. Which is more valuable and/or more likely to appreciate? Thanks for the learned opinions. TC

    I have opportunity to give a new home to a 5 screw 85% no pitting .44 HE 4th model military (1950 .44 military). The grips are not diamond magnas but are like the pics of bottom speciman on pg 161 of SCSW. Condition matches pistol. Ser#S98xxx. '52-'53 I think. ETA Asking price is $1250 OTD...
