S&W change to stop trigger mods.

While waiting for Midway USA to get the sear housing block assemblies in, Numrich actually got some in and he ordered it for 44.60 + 8.50 shipping. It came with punched or stamped pins as well, but it only had one sear spring in it plus the pigtail spring. The pin that holds the pigtail spring...

    sear block SW40F

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the first gen. sigma only had one sear spring.

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

I was simply telling you what I have been reading about guys breaking their strikers by doing this and the gunsmiths I asked about it saying it can. I don't really know if it will or not because I don't do this or intend too. Just a heads up in case that was what broke your striker, so you could...

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

If you believe that it won't damage it, then by all means, keep doing it. You either got 1 bad striker from S&W (which is possible and happens from time to time with all brands and makes of everything), or you simply broke your striker and then you start a thread declaring that S&W has been...

All the Sigma variants / Model designations / Pics

I have been looking for one of these .357 sig versions and have yet to see one around Indpls, would love to buy one if I ever find one.

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

Yeah, if this field strip is too difficult for someone to do properly, then it's a total waste of their money. I will gladly buy it for the right price, since it's junk and all.

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

The manual actually does tell you exactly, step by step how to field strip your gun properly and if you read it it says to pull the trigger one time and remove your finger from the trigger and out of the trigger guard (I wonder why? Maybe they don't want the trigger pulled again during this...

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

S&W says different, and I don't do it as I believe S&W, and I have read about this happening 3 or 4 times recently.

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

Not sure what you are disagreeing with, because we are saying the same thing in different words. You must dry fire to decock, I agree, but then when you are racking the slide back an 1/8 in and pulling the slide latches down, if you happen to go a little too far and the gun cocks and then you...

Has S&W fixed the crappy strikers in the Sigma?

There is no striker issue with the sigmas. You may have just got a bad one. I will say that I have seen some broken striker stories lately and they were all from improperly field stripping the guns. If you pull the slide back too far when you are attempting to strip the gun and you cock it and...

You did something wrong, because removing the pigtail spring will not cause the gun to fail to dry fire or live fire for that matter.

S&W change to stop trigger mods.

I haven't downloaded any pictures on here yet, and i didn't get any pictures of his sear assembly today. I will get some and get them on here as soon as I can, so everyone can see for themselves.

S&W change to stop trigger mods.

I went over and checked it out, they look to have been done by machine. they are punched dead center and deep, enough to spread the ends of the pin so they won't budge. I don't think you can drill them without ruining them and from what I can tell you won't get anymore pins or even another sear...

S&W change to stop trigger mods.

That really sucks. He said that they punched the shorter pin on both sides and the longer one on the flush side and they won't budge at all. I won't be buying any new sigmas for sure.

S&W change to stop trigger mods.

One of my friends who has a SW9VE and has done the (two spring removal) trigger mod, just bought a new SW40VE and was going to do the same trigger mod on it and found that S&W has started center punching the two stage sear pins that hold the sear block in place and he wasn't able to get them...

    trigger job

I specified the video that explains and shows you exatly how to do the mod and I believe this is the best mod for the gun because it does not instruct you to put a pen spring in to replace the outer sear spring. I have done this mod to my gun and have had no issues with sear resetting or any...

    trigger job

you take out the pigtail spring and the larger (outer) sear block spring all located in the sear housing block assembly. I personally would not change the striker spring to the wolf spring if that is what you are referring to. There is a video of this mod being demonstrated on you tube labeled...
