    I just ran through this thread that is 8 months old,I have been looking for a 4" 27-2 blue and can not find one for less than $ 1000.00. Two just sold on Gun Broker for over $ 1400.00 each. Looks like a new Classic is on the way to my house, lock and all !!

    Wanted 27-2 4 " Blue

    Looking for a Blue S & W 27-2 4" barrel. Looking for excellent shooter,great condition. Have a 25-5,29-2 looking to round out the Smith Brothers. Not wanting to buy a brand new one if I can find a -2 at fair price.

    New 4 inch 25-5

    I just took delivery of my S & W 25-5 4" LC. She is pretty and came wiith a well tatered presentation case. Nice addtion to my 29-2 4 inch. Have not fired her as yet suggestions on target ammo ?

    3rd gen pistol (5906) for IPSC ?

    Same question except using a 559 for ISPC I have not started to compete but did find an excellent S & W 559 for use in the competition. Any pointers or commments would be appreciated.

    Finally, A 4" 29-2 Found In California!

    I bought a sweet blued 4" 29-2 from of all places, Gander Mountain. $ 500.00 in December 2011. No box,great condition,great shooter. Just took a minor hit on GunBroker on a 4" Python,claimed "98%",in the HAM Radio world we would call this piece a Screwdriver Joe Special. Every screw slot shows...

    What caused the demise of 3rd Gen. Smiths?

    I will only add : I just bought a 559,still have my 1991 Hi Power,buying wheel guns at the moment. Do not own plastic,not a big fan of SS finish. Too old or too stupid: like the wood and blue steel.I agree with several comments,spend more time shooting and getting holes in the right places !
