    Sambar Stagaholic

Thanks, John You posted just as I was posting a pic of the backside…. didn’t know if it would help date it. It would be great if the year of manufacture was close to the gun (1940).

That Myres is my favorite…. I found it at a local gun show a few years ago.. really didn’t care if I had anything that would fit it - just looked too good not to buy. Turns out it only fits one of my guns - a 1940 NRM :) The fellow that was selling it also had a cane gun… got that too.

    Military and Police ????

Very nice looking! It has that nice satin bluing. I have a late S prefix (S999839) shipped July 1948 and one similar to yours C101xxx shipped March 1950. Maybe someone else can help bracket the date… keep in mind they weren’t necessarily shipped in sequential order. Can you post a full shot...

Collectable belt buckles, **updated more photos

A friend of mine has these and asked me if I knew where to sell them and what they might be valued at. They look nicer than some I’ve seen but I’m not really a buckle collector and haven’t followed prices. Thanks!

    background checks

Virginia uses NICS and Virginia State Police… (you have to fill out 2 forms) there can be a few hours delay if it’s a weekend and there are gun shows going on within the state. A few years back, a fellow attempted to buy a gun, filled out the paperwork and since there was a delay, he went to...

    Centennial & Bodyguard “High Horns”

Thanks, I appreciate the info! In the photo I posted, you can definitely see the difference in the size of the washers. The Jay Scott’s have very small washers. The Jay Scott are a bit tacky looking but sometimes a “retro” look is just what’s needed on some guns. I think I have a similar pair...

    Centennial & Bodyguard “High Horns”

While sorting thru a box I have of grip stocks, I came across a couple of older “diamond” magnas that I had marked as high horns. I compared them to a pair of Jay Scott “stags” (#39) that were made for the Centennial. It looks like the two S&W sets are actually semi high horn. They are longer...

Help with J frame stocks, dates?

I’m sorting thru some spare stocks and came across these j frames. None of the four have serial numbers.. the two on the left both have the letter J imprinted. Upper right has black marker stripe, and the lower right is completely unmarked. They all appear factory, could the ones with the J...

What kind of magazines are these?

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum to post these… 3 similar magazines, one holds a .22 LR and two can hold .22 WMR rounds. Does anyone know rifle these might fit? Thanks!

.22 ammo… I was not aware of this

Here’s a photo I found online of a close up of the cartridge… you can see a slight impression/crimp mid center. The ‘03 was the first and last rifle ever made that accepted this cartridge. The ‘03 evolved into the model 63 and sales skyrocketed. I found some interesting info on the model ‘03...

.22 ammo… I was not aware of this

Thanks for the info and websites.. those are crazy prices, especially when you consider I thought it was a box of .22 LR.! I kept staring at the box and the “22 automatic” just didn’t register. Both boxes are in very good condition and have been gently placed in clear baggies!
