I have a NIB classic re-issue "blued" 40-1. Would it be a fair trade to offer it up toward a model 60 3" revolver? I love the gun but I recently acquired a 63-5 3" .22lr revolver and the model 60 is same gun in .38/.357. Would be nice to practice with the .22's mostly and have same gun in carry...
I carry either a Ruger SR9C or LCR .38 right now. I like those for CCW as they are not expensive and I don't need to fret on wear or carry bruises. Mostly I carry the Lcr which is so light and really a remarkable ccw revolver IMO. However. I have a SW classic re-issue Centennial model 40-1 that...
I have had two. In fact, I still have one but gave to my dad for a keepsake. Both were purchased by me used but only factory fired. The first was a matte finish the second one now my Dad's possession is a glossy finish. I love them! I shot the first one and loved it. Was accurate and perfect as...
That is a nice looking gun. Does it handle .38+p rounds? Either way, if you wanted a .38 special or only intend on shooting .38's I would buy it. If you'll be disappointed it doesn't shoot the +p rounds then pass on it. .357 rounds should not factor in. If you want to shoot .357 then definitely...
A month ago I almost purchased a SW model 63-5 3" barrel .22 revolver off the "GI" internet site. I thought I'd wait the weekend and order it on Monday. However I made an unintentional spur of moment stop at LGS and they just received one in. Holy ****! I've been wanting one for a while and I...
Wow, thx for the help! Yes it looks very similar except I noticed yours has 5 screws and mine has 4 screws. I don't have the screw at the top of the side plate near the hammer. Also mine looks to be in very similar condition to yours.
Well I read the post pic info and still not able. I'm trying to use pics from IPad or choosing the "take photo" option but getting nowhere. Too much time wasted. I'm out but thx DWalt.
Thx DWalt I will do so later today. The 30-1 is much better condition and with box but I will post pics of both here later on new thread. I'm not good judge of condition on antiques but I'm told it (1896) is considered in "fine" condition.
Interesting thread as my dad gave me (I believe) a 1st model HE from 1896. The serial # is 3875 but the "7" almost looks like a "Y" and maybe it is? There is another very tiny # on the inside of crane where they normally are. (I need to get a magnifier to see it hold-on....sorry it took so...

What: Model 42 Airweight Lemon Squeezer Ser#20XXX
the gun is rated for .38spcl. non +P although it can handle +P as a carry round. It is very accurate for a snubnose revolver.
Condition: This gun shows normal wear from carry for a gun its age. I have found this to be an excellent ccw and...
I know this is a S&W site but let's not underestimate the Ruger. I have S&W revolvers; a blued & a nickled models 40-1 (lemon squeezers), a model 042, and a 63-5. All are beautiful and great shooters. I liken the SW's to luxury cars and the Rugers as the Ford F-150 series...They both fill a...
I have a line on a "like new" pre-lock 4" barrel 686 .357 w/the square butt wooden handles for $525. I own a LNIB 3" S&W 63-5 .22lr revolver. I also own a 4" GP100. My dilemma is would you sell the 63-5 to purchase the 686 given I really don't need the 686 but it's sooo nice looking! I'm not...
