    Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accessories"

Don’t think I posted this but a couple weeks ago bought a used Seecamp 32. I took it out the next day and it functioned perfectly. In the deal it came with a Don Hume pocket holster and 50 rounds of PMC 60 gr HP’s. What a tiny gun!

Trends You Simply Can't Stand...Feel Free To Vent Here

When I buy a new to me firearm that I’m not familiar with the mechanics, I like to research the takedown and reassembly of that gun. If I’m going to strip it and clean it I want to make certain all the parts go in right. I’ll often look for a YouTube video from a knowledgeable person. Quite...

    Southern Expression Really Old.

What has the world come to. I understand canned poke but “organically grown”. 😁 I never heard the term salet until I was an adult. It was always just poke. You’d pick and cook up a mess of poke. No point in gettin sophisticated.

    Southern Expression Really Old.

During the school year in the 50’s we catch crawdads in the crick that ran through the playground. I can’t remember what we did with them but probably turned them loose. In the spring my mother and I would go out in search of “poke greens”. Poke is a native plant in the south that grows by the...

$2300 for a tail light for a Ford F150? That can't be right..

Both are gen 3. One is an F56 and the other an F57. The F57 has the LED lights. I’m thinking about getting some LED bulbs from Amazon and trying them in the F56. I have an OBD and Bimmer app and can switch over the computer to LED. Supposedly it recognizes the led’s then and there’s no flicker...

$2300 for a tail light for a Ford F150? That can't be right..

I have two Mini Coopers one having old style incandescent bulb headlights and the other new LED projector lights. Granted the one with led lights are much brighter but the $$$ difference is nuts. I bought a set of new incandescent bulbs that are brighter, Sylvania Silver Star or something like...

    Alternative to .38 Special Recoil

Like mentioned above if you’re a reloaded a nice 32 J frame M30-1 or M31 square butt J frame would be a good option. I have a couple of hundred Hornady 85 gr XTP’s but doubt you’d get any expsnsion at the velocities of a 32 long. You can buy 95-100gr RN and full wadcutters. I don’t remember the...

    Alternative to .38 Special Recoil

I have no 32 H&R experience but completely agree with your assessment of 32 Long. I too have hand and wrist arthritis and just can’t tolerate hard recoil. I traded a friend a model 37 for a mint 1953 Colt Cobra 32 cal and reload for it and absolutely love shooting it. I can shoot 100 of my loads...

    Gun price complaints

I’ve been going to gun shows since the mid 70’s and watched prices go out of sight. Relative to wages, quality guns have never been cheap. In 1978 I bought a new M28 for $178 and couldn’t quite come up with the difference for an M27. A few years later I found a new Blue 6” Python and had to sell...

    Southern Expression Really Old.

My grandfather and I used to walk down the alley behind his house to Main Street and on the corner was an old 1800 wooden building with simulated brick tarpaper siding. He’d take me in and set me on one of the burlap bags filled with feed and I’d listen to my grandfather and his old buddies talk...

    Are You Content?

I have way more than I need and might buy a nice M31 if I find one at a decent price. I always wanted a Colt SAA but I’ve always been too cheap to pay the price so I’m no sure about that one. And like one person mentioned they’d like a selective fire M16 or MP5, I’d love an original full auto...

There's not a single new car I would buy at this point

Coil and capacitors wouldn’t be a problem. It’s the super sensitive IC chips that can’t take the power surge of an EMP. If you have an old AM/FM radio with vacuum tubes and no solid state you’re ok there too. Vacuum tunes will take the power surge.

There's not a single new car I would buy at this point

I own 2 Mini Cooper S and bought an OBD and the Bimer App for my iPhone and reprogrammed / disabled the things I didn’t like. With these two goodies I can reprogram the transmission, engine computer, lights, mirrors, suspension, HVAC and most other systems BUT I don’t know what I’m doing with...

If only five, what would they be

    Of the ones I own I’d say: M29 4” M14 8-3/8” Pre M17 6” M63 4” M66 2.5” Hard to narrow these down. An additional 5: M28 4” M625-2 4” M30 2” Pre 10 HE 2” RB M15 4” And 5 more: M34 4” M34 2” M32 2” Terrier M10 2” M40 2” I guess that’s the order I’d say are most important but it’s tough...

    22 Victory , Worth Buying?

My wife has one and both of us shoot it and love it. She’s had it problems 5-6 years and has put thousands of rounds through it. Right out of the box it functioned flawlessly and at roughly 700 rounds it developed an ejection problem. I contacted Smith and they sent a new extractor and springs...

Stripped screw removal ****( SEE Post 14 )*****

My dad gave me his nickel 4” M29 forty years ago. A few years ago I removed the target stocks and was going to remove the side plate but discovered the larger flat head screw under the stock just rotated when trying to remove it. I’m not sure whether it’s stripped or broken off but thought...

    Another MacBook Pro failure...

I’d have to take a look but think mine is a 2012. I added ram when I bought it and replaced the battery a couple years ago. I’ve upgraded the OS as far as it can go at the moment but have been thinking of hacking the firmware and upgrading the C OS farther. If I do that I’ll upgrade the Drive to...

We took a break from travel last year due to a little health issue my wife was having but hope to get on the road again later this year. We like to travel before and after summer travelers families are back in school.
