Hello, I asked about the X because I was kind of suspect of the gun possibly being reblued. I know sometimes they mark them if they have. It has a light spot on the S&W emblem. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Sorry, after closer inspection (Magnifying glass) what I thought was S-286XXX was actually S-206xxx. But I did see a X stamped on the yoke and a X stamped on the frame. Is that a inspection mark? Thanks Again

I recently purchased a M 29 no dash 4 screw with a 8 3/8" barrel. When I look up the serial # (286xxx) it reads a 1966 or so year, does that sound correct? Thanks
