    617-6 taking a trip to s&w

The gun doesn’t feel like there is any endshake. Unfortunately I sent it in so I can’t double check it. I should have waited a bit before sending it in. Ugh I have tried cci, federal, agulia, and others with the same results. I have another 617-6 and it works great with the same ammo. The one...

    617-6 taking a trip to s&w

That not it either. I throughly clean the cylinders after every range time. I always check to make sure the rounds seat before firing. They only back out after firing. That’s if they fire at all!

I have ONLY used .22lr no shorts. And yes I checked the strain screw under the grip.

    617-6 taking a trip to s&w

I have cleaned it until it looks better than new. I already sent out the gun so I can’t send pics, sorry. The gun locks up and won’t rotate because the spent casings are sticking out and rubbing on the shield. The casings after they have been fired are deformed like there is too much gap between...

    617-6 taking a trip to s&w

My 617-6 is going back for some work. It’s about 10 years old and has always treated me good but in the past year it has been failing to fire and the spent shells are hanging up across the recoil shield. It’s never been abused or dry fired. Any idea on why all of a sudden it’s giving me grief? I...

    317 snub discontinued?

Yes they did some what. The first one was scraping hard against the forcing cone and they shaved it and replaced the cylinder. It started to do it again after 50 rounds so I sold it and bought another one. The second one, the timing was way off and was off and the fixed it but at this point I...

    317 snub discontinued?

Both of the 43c models I had were 2018 production. I hope yours is fine. I just purchased a 617 6” and it has to go back. Out of timing. There is lead everywhere and I only shot 50 rounds.

    317 snub discontinued?

I’ve had 2 different 43c models. Both had to go back to Smith and Wesson for repairs. Sold them both. If you have a good 317, keep it and get ther 63. Much better built gun.

    Question for 43c owners

It is definitely scraping. It only scrapes against the forcing cone when the cylinder is being closed. I’m going to try to post more pics.

    Question for 43c owners

The front of the cylinder is supposed to be black. Yes you can see the carbon build up but the finish is completely scraped off after only 50 rounds.

    Question for 43c owners

I recently got a new 43c and immediately had to send it to S&w because the forcing cone was scraping the front of the cylinder. It never seized up, it fired flawless prior to sending it back to them. They replaced the cylinder and a few other parts. After I got it back, it shot flawless again...
