    Birth Year Guns

I have a 10-6 as a birth year gun. Shipped when I was 8 months old. I’m glad to have it. I was telling a guy at work who has a few guns about my birth year gun and he looked at me like I was crazy. I think you gotta be a REAL enthusiast to care about a birth year gun.

Sold/Withdrawn **Price Drop**NYPD 5946 in Excellent Condition For Sale-NE PA

Only reason I am selling this is I have 2. I don't know how much time the cop who carried this had on the street, because this gun is in excellent shape. I'd rate it at above 90%. I bought it 5 years ago and I don't believe I ever shot it. I replaced the dead night sights with new Trijicon...

    Ruger Speed Six

Just saw the trigger is jeweled, also. That's a definite no for me. You could buy a parts kit for the Six guns and replace them, but the trigger and hammer wouldn't match the high polish. I'd keep moving along if I saw that.

    Ruger Speed Six

I agree it’s too high by maybe $200, but if you want it, are you gonna let $200 stand in your way? If you own the gun for 10 year, that’s $20 a year for owning that gun. $1.50 a month gonna stop you? You rarely see them in person. You can find them on gunbroker for a bit less but then to have...

S&W Bodyguard 2.0 slide release issue

No. He meant you can drop the empty magazine with the slide locked back, and then put in a new mag, then pull back on the locked open slide and it releases the slide lock.

S&W Bodyguard 2.0 slide release issue

The slide stop works as a slide release on the Shield Plus, as long as the gun ejects a spent casing and locks back in an empty magazine. If you fire the gun to empty and drop the mag, when you insert a new magazine pressing the slide lock down easily releases it. But I learned the sling shot...

CS9 vs Hellcat! Do we really need this newfangled plastic?

The Hellcat has a safety version. Funny how nearly all Manufacturers except Glock recognize the market for that. As many Glocks that they sell, they’d sell more if that was an option. I know quite a few people who won’t carry one because of no safety. I own 5 Glocks but won’t carry them because...

What makes the Model 581 so rare?

The logo being in the sideplate does indicate a first year production. I recall the logo was moved in 1982. I have a 681 that was made in May of 1983 and the logo is under the cylinder latch.

    replacing red dot powder

In the spring of 2013, when I started reloading, components were scare after Sandy Hook so I had to settle for what I could get, and all they had was Red Dot. It worked ok, but metered terribly. I now only use HP38 for all My pistol ammo. I know there are some that are better, but it meters dead...

    6906 intermittent light primer strikes

I’ve replaced the firing pin spring in all my used 3rd gen pistols and seen some nasty stuff in there.

Finally said the hell with it, on the BG2.0...

When I hear the words “tactical reload” I always get a chuckle. If you have the ability to even think about reloading in the middle of a gunfight, and reloading a gun that isn’t even empty, and believe you won’t fumble that mag change, is laughable. I worked with a cop who got in an on duty...

    M&P .45 2.0 Dropping magazine

This was the topic of a very detailed thread on this forum regarding the 10MM M&P. A member here had video of it happening and his frustration with S&W for telling him everything was fine. The 10MM was built off the .45 frame so there could be an issue. I have an M&P 45 2.0 and it’s never done...

Any love for Glocks around here?

Exactly! So many people complain about how it fits their hands. I’m all for making a weapon as comfortable as possible but there comes a time to just make it work and stop complaining. Can you imagine American GI’s saying “Drill Sergeant, this M1 Garand doesn’t fit me well”. How many cops...

    Accidental Discharge

Yeah. It was human negligence. Mine surely was. But you’re human so you’re not incapable of having one. And my ND didn’t cause a death or injury. It still was an ND. Just because nobody got hit doesn’t change that. Look at range ceilings and walls. I remember at least three or four bullet holes...

    Accidental Discharge

People with your level of confidence are the prime candidates for ND’s. Bill Jordan was a combat veteran and participated in many real world shootouts. If it can happen to him, it can happen to you. Thinking you’re immune from them is fantasy. Until you’re on your deathbed, you can’t claim to...

That’s not a valid serial number. There’s your problem.

    Accidental Discharge

Mine was in 1994. Took the magazine out of my Glock and was dry firing it. Got bored and out the mag back in. Little while later I racked the slide again forgetting I put the mag back in. BANG!! Went through wall. I’m honestly grateful it happened because over 30 years later the scene still...
