    Making Davis Tutt Famous

History says he used an 1851 Colt Navy .36 at 75 yards to kill Tutt. Many have re created that shot and said it was possible.

Is the trigger better or worse than a 39-2?

My experience & opinion as to costs of reloading now days.

You are correct. Most shops where I am have little of interest to me. No used guns because they won’t take them in trade, afraid no one will buy them. You can find Glock, Taurus, Ruger Wrangler and not much else. Big box stores have the overpriced new Colts, the usual S and W autos, maybe a .38...

    59/459 pistols

Seeing some for sale. Is the 459 an improved version of the 59? Anything to worry about? If I buy one it would just be a plinker. Does anyone work on these?

    New model 63 questions

Interested. Are they any good? Want a nice .22 revolver. Have seen Model 34 kit guns, high 700$ to $1100 plus. But I have confidence in these. New model 63 , I can get delivered around 850/900$—- Cooments? Thanks

    S&W 39-2 and 439 ISP ammunition

You are indeed correct. In modern 9mm there is no need for “hot” 9mm ammo for defensive purposes. Those who carry a 9 for defense against dangerous animals really need a bigger gun, in my opinion. I bought a bunch of 9BPLE on sale when I had my LE surplus 5906. No problem with plus p plus in...

Just when you thought it was safe to buy a new Model 36...

I have some old Colts and Smiths which I cherish highly. The big money today for the manufacturers is not in revolvers, it is in plastic-o-matics and AR’s.

    S&W 39-2 and 439 ISP ammunition

The Illinois State Police did not use Federal 9BPLE in the 39, but they did in the 439, I believe. Since the guns are the same construction, why couldn’t I run a couple magazines 9BPLE in my 39-2, when the zombies are on the back porch?

    Kit gun accuracy

22/32 kit guns, will bullets keyhole out of a 2 inch? Would a 4 inch be better? Seeing some real nice 2 inchers for sale.

    Winchester Active Duty M1152

Are any of the M and P 9mm pistols approved for this? Information indicates +P+ pressure. Local big box store is selling this, and I don’t think buyers are aware that it might not be safe in certain guns.

    Winchester Active Duty M1152

Specifications on this ammunition indicate +p+ pressures and high velocities. Are any of the older S and W autos, 39-2, 439, 59 series, etc. OK with limited use of this ammo? I had some Federal 9BPLE that I ran in an old 5906 LE surplus and had no problems, but not a lot of it either.

    S and W 39 history questions

Did the model 39 ever participate in any US military trials? If so, how did it perform? Did the Illinois State Police use Federal 9BPLE in the model 39, or only in the steel frame guns? Why were the first 39s issued to the ISP in flap holsters?
