    Bud's Now Has 4" Model 10s

I shot mine at the range after a match this past Saturday. It shoots really nice, hits where it's pointed and is so impressive I'm considering trying it in SSR, something that I never thought I'd consider. As for condition, it's got a couple of tiny dings and very little wear - the more I think...

    WTT - Blackhawk holster

I want to trade a Blackhawk CQC (Kydex) Level 1 holster (for full size 1911) in perfect condition for an equivalent S&W K frame holster. Mine is a RH, black, belt holster. (There's an image of a LH holster here BlackHawk CQC Level 1 Holster Matte Finish in stock at the lowest price only at...

    Bud's Now Has 4" Model 10s

Me too! Be sure and post back when you get it to let us know. As far as I know MOST of the people who have dealt with Bud's have been happy with the results. This is not my 1st buy from Bud's either but it's my first one of the "police trade-in" guns.

    Bud's Now Has 4" Model 10s

...and while I'm at it, I'll bet some of you experienced guys can point me to instructions for a trigger job on this model 10. I've done a lot of upgrades/modifications to my 1911's but never on a revo. I have time to do it, and I'll bet I can, if I can get some instructions.

    Bud's Now Has 4" Model 10s

To follow up, here are some pics of the gun I got from Bud's: As you can see it's not perfect but it's a tight gun and I'm happy with it. The last 4 photos are with flash and bleached out a little. You can see some tape residue around the grip area - those are already cleaned off) and...

    Recommend a J-Frame?

I have only heard of it too but I've also been told by an number of my buddies that S&W service is exemplary and, although I have the 442, I'm not worried about the finish "failing" either. I think Smith makes it right whatever the problem.

    Recommend a J-Frame?

My thing about carry guns is that they ought to be black (blue) rather than stainless. Black just hides better and glares less. Thus I chose the 442 rather than the 642. If the finish fails it goes back to S&W.

    Loader - J Frame

Sounds good, Continental. I think that's just the ticket for me.

    Loader - J Frame

Thanks for the replies and tips, guys. I should say that I normally carry a semi-auto and reloading that IS faster. BUT, sometimes I go with the J Frame in my pocket and it just seems odd to have only 5 shots and no spares. God forbid that I should ever have to reload anything I carry but my...

    Loader - J Frame

Can anyone recommend a "cute" little speed loader (or strip or something) that would be possible to carry for a spare cylinder's worth of ammo for a 5-shot? Maybe that's just something a J Frame carrier doesn't worry about but I'd like to know if any other J Frame lovers also carry a few spare...

    Recommend a J-Frame?

I just bought a 442 (and recommend it highly) after shooting the equivalent 642 of my buddies on the range. I wanted to make sure that I could shoot the air weight fairly accurately before investing in one - then found a really good price ($349) on both the 642 and 442 at my local gun shop so I...

    Bud's Now Has 4" Model 10s

I just ordered one of the round butt versions last night and got an email that the order was being processed. I hate to buy un-seen but I couldn't resist the price. I haven't tried the VIP thing but have bought from Bud's before and been pleased. I just hope this gun doesn't bark instead of...

    Craig's list scam???

I'll guarantee you it's working or it would disappear. Think about it. If they "hit up" 100 people and 3 or four fall for it it's a success. What are they out but an email and a little time and they probably send these out (in some automated fashion) by the thousands. They (evidently) don't...

    Craig's list scam???

...one other thing I forgot to mention: I tried Craig's List using email as a contact - BIG MISTAKE! I got more spam than even I could imagine. Listing a phone number as a contact is the only way to go and, if I can't do that, I don't do it.

    Binocular recommendations needed...

A larger pair of binoculars would almost demand a good harness if what you want to do is mostly look at stuff on the trip but I suspect you're gonna want to have a decent camera too - should also be a compact, decent quality - and maybe some info, maps, water, who knows what? I'm just thinking...

    Binocular recommendations needed...

My advice, whatever you choose, is to by small binoculars. You won't have the wonderful field of view that larger optics offer but you also won't have to lug around several pounds of optics for the entire trip. I have a pair of Leitz binoculars, 10x25 I think (that I don't think are made any...

    J Frame Question

Just to follow up, it looks like Wolff only makes lighter rebound spring that the factory (18 lb) - they offer them in 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, & 16 Lb for competitive revos - so I'm sticking with what Smith has in it. It's certainly not too strong for me and I'm not shooting competition with this...

    Craig's list scam???

That's my feeling! I would never agree to meet someone at my house for a Craig's list sale. I've met people on a public parking lot convenient to both of us and "transacted business" without a problem.

    J Frame Question

Thx Model520, I'll probably check into it simply because I like to tinker. I may not change it but it can't hurt to ask. BTW, my friend's 642 trigger does the same thing you described that your K frame does: locks up at a point of incomplete release. @Jeb, I think so too. I actually love the...
