Another newbie question, please bare with me. When figuring powder amounts for your loads, do you usually just go by weight of bullets as to the type? For example, I will see data for a 125 gr FMJ but nothing for a 125 gr HP. Is there a difference?

I plan on the doing a crimp. My question was can I use the seating die provided by Lee's 3 die set or need to order a extra Factory Crimp Die.

I tried tumbling and polishing of the brass and worked great. Brass looks like new. Now one more thing. Is it a good idea to rinse and dry the brass after tumbling or not necessary ?

First thanks to everyone for answering all my questions. I'm new to reloading and your input has been just great. Next question pertains to using a polishing compound added to the media. walnut in my case. Does the media need tossed after 1 use or will it remain good for a few more ?

I tried a cheap (real cheap) ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and it did OK, but before investing in a better model I was wondering what you prefer the tumbling with media or ultrasonic?

Is it necessary to tumble and clean brass (pistol) after each use?

Just purchased the hand primer from Lee's with 2 #19 shell holder for 38 Spls. This is the recommended size from Lees. My casings won't fit. I tried both holders. Thinking my brass was the culprit, I tried new ammo and it wouldn't fit either. Has anyone run into this before or am I doing...

arjay, If i'm reading this right 0,5cc of red dot is equal to 3.5 grains Is that correct

Maybe that is .5cc.

I'm new at reloading. I want to reload 38 spl. I'm using 158 gr LRN bullets with Alliant Red dot powder. The Lee's 38 spl kit included a .5cc dipper, and says this is the correct load for 38s but I'm seeing different weights. Can someone advise me on this.
