    Any Lowe's employees here?

I've been unemployed since Dec 31st after the Case dealer I worked for went belly up. I'd sold heavy equipment for years and it was a good living...put the kids through college and paid off the house. Anyway, I've kind of hit a brick wall trying to find a job at 58. After applying to Lowe's...

    550-1 Deadly on potatos

Since I've been unemployed I've looked for creative ways to occupy my time between resume submissions. Today I was poking around in the kitchen and found about 3 pounds of potatos that had sprouted and were a little soft so I went to the front porch and tossed them down toward the creek. After...

    Shipping a shotgun for repair

I need a little advice from ya'll. My Ruger Red Label finally broke one of the ejectors (I'd heard it was bound to happen eventually) so I called Ruger for return instructions. Customer service told me to box it up, put in all my info and ship it to them via FedEx, UPS or USPS. They said they...

    Shotgun question re:steel shot

A pal of mine is bugging me to duck hunt with him this year. I started poking around in the safe to see what I could shoot besides my clays shotguns and all I found was an older Browning BPS with a fixed (full) choke. Can I safely shoot steel shot with a full choke? Seems I read/heard something...

Machine gun party in Greenville, SC

A local indoor range is having a M/G party this Saturday. You get a barbeque plate, drinks, a live band and a full clip trip with a full auto for $25. They're also giving away an AK of some sort. I've shot full auto weapons but my wife hasn't and she's really wanting to go. Might be fun.

    HVAC opinions needed

After 25 years it's time to replace our complete heating and cooling system. I currently have a LP (too far in the sticks to get natural gas)basement furnace and normal A/C condenser and coil system. Does anyone have any opinions on going back with the same set up versus going with a heat pump...

    DeSantis Tuck-This

Anyone have any experience with this holster? I'm trying to conceal a 6906 under polo type shirts. Do they work? Reasonably comfortable? Thanks in advance!

    kinda off topic- M1917 Enfield

My half brother just dropped of a M1917 Eddystone marked rifle to go toward his debt. It's been in the family for years and I'd forgotten about it. I know absolutely nothing about military rifles. I gathered some info from the web but decided you guys and gals were more knowledgeable. I'm not...

    only in South Carolina

On the news tonight...in my home town...police responded to a female horse thief riding drunk down Main St. When they arrived on the scene she had "parked" the horse at a convenience store and gone in for more beer. When the officers questioned her she told them she wasn't drunk but the horse was.

    6906 for carry

What do you think...anybody carry one? I'm waiting on the slow SC process for my permit and just picked up a 6906 and I'm already thinking about it for a carry gun. Thanks in advance.

    Another 6906 question

Is the 6906 an alloy framed pistol? I've never seen one in person but from what I think I remember the number designation doesn't follow the general rule. I've gotten myself in a bind and in order to sell a new excavator my customer is forcing me to sell him my 5906 (which I don't want to do...

    CWP class yesterday

My wife and I hosted a CWP (what it's called in SC) class at our home yesterday. There were 13 of us and everyone passed. I caught a lot of ribbing because my wife out shot me. Looks like I'll be looking for a new CCW in about 90 days. The instructor said that was the usual time frame for SC.

Everybody wants a piece of the frenzy

There's a little police supply store near my office that just started selling used guns a couple of months ago. I stopped by when he put out his first shipment of police department trade-ins, all from Mauldin, SC and all Hi-Point 9mm. He had a decent price at $100 each. They sold out real quick...

    5906 from Summit

I just picked up 2 of the 5906 trade-ins from Summit. I think I got the last 2 so probably from the bottom of the box. They seem to be mechanically sound but do show LOTS of holster wear and scratches. Can they be polished at home? What would you recommend? ScotchBrite? Steel wool? Leavethem...

    Newbie w/questions

Hey Ya'll...I'm new to the forum and wanted to trouble you all with a question or two. I'm a 57 year old heavy equipment salesman who's owned guns all my life. I've got a few revolvers, a 39-2, a Colt 70 series Commander, a SW40VE and just ordered 2 of Summit's 5906 trade ins. After reading here...
