    K-frame .327....

.....keep hearing rumors that one is going to come one day...if S&W finally does I just hope it isn't a 6" full underlug like they did with the 16-4... Just make it like their new Model 19 w/o the IL...they balance nicely.... Bob

    J-Frame +Power spring...

Friend has a Model 51 that has "iffy" ignition, especially DA with various ammo. As the gun is 50 years old (in mint condition) he would like to replace the Main/Hammer Spring with a 12# which is listed for .22 Magnum... Factory doesn't have any. They referred him to Wolfe...they don't make...

    Question on 940 firing pin...

Picked up a very clean S&W 940 3" yesterday...unfortunately it looks like the firing pin is broken in half or the spring is shot as when pointed down the fining pin nose comes through the frame. In looking there "was" a specific firing pin for these models: UPC #: 197706818282 Product #...

    1953 Pre-27..

Quick question...picked up a blue worn pre-27 last week. The S&W emblem is stamed on the left side of the frame half way between the cylinder release and trigger guard. My 1952 is on the sideplate... Thoughts... Thanks...Bob

Buffalo Bore and Undewood .38 Special +P

If you have been wondering about the really .38-44 loads that both BB and Underwood make... Pressure with all the loads is running in the 28-29K psi range...much more than the BigThree +P but still a lot less than .357s...and 9mm from J-Frames... I carry both the BB loads in a 649-2 and Colt...

    Lack of patience....

Young friend came over the other day to show me a gun...turned out to be a 1965 Model 19-2 blue with 4" barrel in very nice condition... Seems that an older friend of his who has owned nothing but semi-autos, wanted his first revolver and picked this up locally for $650... BUT when he went to...

    657 3" question...

Have had four of these over the years. The only one I kept was one that had some scuff marks and was Mag-Na-Ported... Today a young friend called to tell me about a 657 3" he had just purchased...it was only 100 or so serial numbers up from mine and was also Mag-Na-Ported. I've also seen...

    1981 vintage Model 17...

A young friend recently picked up a VERY clean 1981 (95K serial prefix) with an 8 3/8" barrel.. One interesting thing is although it is apparently a 17-4, it is not so marked on the frame where the serial number is... First time I can remember seeing a 17 without said markings...or maybe I...

    ...a 332?

With Ruger selling every LCR in .327 Federal Magnum that they can make, one would think that S&W would see the writing on the wall and make a couple of models in .327. Even Taurus is back on the .327 bandwagon.. At one time they had the 632 CarryComp 3" and 632 PRO that were great guns that now...
