    Winchester model 60As

I got these two at Tulsa last weekend. Winchester single shots are my addiction. These two are very nice condition and the price was right. One is a target rifle with peeps, hooded front sight, barrel band, steel butt plate and sling swivels. They only produced just over 6,100 targets. It has a...

    Winchester models 56 and 57 .22s

These two models were produced from 1926 to 1929. It was Winchesters plan for a medium priced bolt action magazine fed sporter and target rifles. They were both identical receivers and barrels. They were serial numbered together with a total of 8,597 made. They were both chambered either in .22...

    Getting ready for Tulsa

The Tulsa gun show is coming on April 6th and 7th. I look forward to it every year. Also on the 8th of April the big solar eclipse is happening mid afternoon. Anyone going home on an East route may have a new adventure. We will be going North, so should pretty much miss it. I have all my plans...

    Winchester boy's rifles

John M. Browning designed the first bolt action .22 rifle in 1900. Several different rifles were produced using Browning's patent. They were called the 1900 series. All small rifles with the receiver and barrel being one piece. I found a 02 model in Tulsa last weekend. It is exceptional for it's...

    Winchester Model 1904

I got this little "boy's" rifle at Tulsa this spring. It is one of many small single shot .22s that Winchester produced. This one is extra nice for a gun over a hundred years old. The wood and bore are nice and the mechanics are crisp and tight I think the style is classy with the schnable stock...

    PP/Varmint gun

I've been wanting a short barrel shotgun that I could leave out without crying if it happened to be stolen. I was thinking coach gun or an old pump gun. I found this 101 year old Winchester model 12 at Tulsa last fall. It had no finish left on it to speak of and had a poly choke. Just what I was...

    Wax on, Wax off

My wife got me a small can of Renaissance wax for Christmas. I used it on several of my revolvers and thought, why not try it on these carbines? I have always used Johnsons Paste wax, but I am now a Ren wax convert. It works so easy and the results are amazing.

    Winchester model 69s

I dug to the back of a safe today and these came out for a picture. The models from top to bottom. 69A Target 69A Junior Target Shooters Special. JTSS 69A Match 69 Standard 69 Dual sight This is just a few of the many variations of the 69A/69s. There is a really good and complete book out...

The knives came out for air and light today, so I took their picture. My Randalls Randalls and a Dawson

    Another Duracell near loss

I have left Duracell use for over two years. I have had too many things lost to their leaking, swelling poor excuse for batteries. Flashlights, a nice headlamp, clocks, just too much to be a fluke. You just don't realize how many things in your house have batteries resting in them. I was in my...

    Nobody locked their doors......

But they sure had a lot of keys. I found these in a bunch of stuff my Dad had picked up over the years. There are church keys, skeleton keys, model T keys, clock keys, bottle openers, a skate key, desk keys, unknown strange keys. They must of locked up a lot of other stuff. :)

    Dawson knife

I don't hunt big game, I'm too old to fight, I can give no good reason why I have bought fixed blade sheath knives. I have some Randalls and bought this Dawson knife a couple years ago at the Tulsa gun show. It feels good in the hand and seems to be quite rugged. I have never seen any reviews on...

    Missouri Valley Collectors show

I had a chance to go to a local RK gun show here today or go over to Kansas City for the MVAC show. I made the trip to K.C. and as usual it was a very good show with lots of high dollar S&Ws and Winchester .22s. I had made it through most of the show without spending big dollars, but a National...

    Air Force survival knife

I bought this knife this fall at the Colorado Collectors Show in Colorado, Springs. I wasn't too impressed with the knife, but the hand made sheath caught my eye. It's very crude, but it is made very well. The leather is heavy and the edges are burnished smooth. It's put together very neatly...

I helped a guy spend his money today.

I was at a local gun show today. They had nice wide halls, small crowd and a few guns. I walked up to a table and a guy was looking at a model 61 Winchester with what looked to be a period side mount Weaver scope. It looked to be pretty decent with a small scratch on one side of the receiver...

If I ever have to combat

I think these three compliment each other well. A 19-2 Combat Magnum, A K-38 Combat Masterpiece model 15 and my favorite .22 an 18-2 K-22 Combat Masterpiece.

    Very disappointed and disgusted.

I have been a fototime paid user for nearly twenty years. In that time it has been very dependable and easy to use. Fototime has disappeared from the internet. It appears they closed their Facebook and all their web sites and contact information. I had between 300 and 400 pictures stored on...

    My new education M-1 carbines

Last year at this time I knew nearly nothing about carbines. Now I still know very little. I have learned over the years that I can learn by books and buying lessons. I have bought two lessons now and I can see it will be a daunting task to become somewhat of a carbine guru. The top one I found...

    Ruptured ducks and stuff

This is a 1945 copy of Yank, a couple ducks, my Dad's dog tags and a WWll ration book with lots of stamps left. Stomping tin cans, saving bacon grease and victory gardens. I remember it all, also when he came home.

    Winchesters and Randalls

Long day with a new camera and my windows 10 beast. I also had trouble uploading pictures to my FotoTime account. It's never fought me like this. The camera is a Sony CyberShot Dsl-H300 and I'm not real pleased with it yet. Here's my test pictures, My 1890s in Short, long, Long rifle and WRF...
