    M25-2 Nickle

Notice in Mr. Supica's 5th edition Standard Catalog of S&W (and probably in previous editions) that the M25-2 was offered in bright nickle finish. Does anyone have one of these, or a pic of one? Thanks in advance.

    Question about lack of information

Received my 5th edition yesterday. Very much worth the wait, but the one thing that puzzled me is that there is no information on the M52. It is covered in my 2nd edition that I just looked at, but no information in the 5th. Just wondering. I have all but the first edition, and this is the best...

    Possible virus

Don't know if it just me, but in the last few days while clicking on some photos in a post, I get a window that opens saying my computer is being scanned and is at risk. My anti virus software lets me know it is a high risk issue. Have to get off the internet entirely to get rid of it. It says...

    Old pocket watches

Several years ago I asked on this forum if there was anyone who was familiar with old pocket watches and could possibly help me with some info/value of a couple that belonged to my great-grandfather(s). My life became very busy at that time and now I am retired. I can't find the the person who...

    Early M&P Target

Looking at an M&P Target, serial number range of 488***. A couple of questions: it has been refinished in a matte type finish, and there is evidence of minor pitting, which I think is why it was refinished, but my question is that the cylinder has almost a "bronze" color to it. Hard to explain...

    J Frame serial numbers

Forgive me if this has been asked, but short of a factory letter, is there anyway to narrow down the production date of a Model 36? I have one, serial number 564396, but the S&W Standard Catalog lists it as between 1962 and 1969. Does anyone know the reason why didn't/couldn't break it down to...

    Renowned Gunleather book

IMO, if you are at all interested in gun LEATHER, you would be a fool not to have a copy of crazyphil's book. I received mine yesterday and was up until the wee hours going through it. My only issue is that I waited as long as I did to order it!

    BARgunner..great transaction!

Bought a Ruger Bisley off of this forum from BARgunner. Perfect transaction and the pistol was better than I expected from his description. This transaction could not have been improved on.

    S&W 52-2 seen for sale

NO dog in this fight, but was on Simpson Ltd. website and they just listed a 52-2 for $995. Again, no interest in this, have nothing to do with the company, just thought I would pass it on.

    Different sort of "letter" question

I have a good friend that just inherited his grandfather's 1940 vintage 4" nickel 44 special hand ejector. His grandfather was a sheriff and this was his duty weapon. All numbers match and even though I did not get to look at it in good light, I am sure that it has never been refinished. It came...

    Amazon.com issue

Don't know if this bothers anyone else, but after a long conversation with a not so helpful rep from Amazon.com I found out that they never delete any of your order history. This came up since I let my kids post what they want on the Wish List feature. Once you order it, you can delete it from...

    S&W 52-2

No dog in this fight and please remove this post if it is not appropriate, but I was on the Simpson Ltd. site a few minutes ago and they have a 52-2 listed for $895 under "new arrivals".

    Clint Smith article

Don't know if many of you read it, but was at the local bookstore the other night and was looking through the latest issue of American Handgunner. Clint Smith had an article in which he stated that a double action revolver should never be fired in single action mode. I am not a big Clint Smith...

    Sellers and PayPal

My rant for the day...on another firearms forum I wanted to buy something. The seller would only take PayPal. My question/rant is why do people who make a profit selling firearms, and firearms related items, insist on using PayPal? They are one of the most anti gun companies out there and will...

No longer own any assault weapons

Yes, it is true. I wish to give a big thanks to our local media for allowing this to happen. You see, last week a local LEO's car was broken into and several items were stolen. Among them a .308 rifle and a .223 PATROL rifle. (the caps were put on by me for emphasis). Since our local LEO's...
