    Yellow hair

Why do modern "experts" run down ALL Custers actions? Patton called him the greatest Cav leader in the US Army (except for Patton..of course) I remember that from AIT at Ft. Knox . Inscription over Patton museum door. If my posts get a little foggy sorry. Combo of methadone, cancer & other drugs

    Diesel exauset fluid?

Can anyone tell me WHAT diesel exaust fluid is? I heard on the radio a local auto parts place had it in sale for half price. Wow great, but what is it? I've driven diesels but I've never heard of the stuff. Yeah I know exaust is spelled wrong. But my wife doesn't know the right way either.

    Freeze oysters?

Can oysters be frozen? What I mean is will they taste the same or close after being thawed? I've never been faced with a mess of oysters I couldn't handle in one setting before. But my BIL just dropped off a pail full of shucked extra smalls that I don't think bigfoot could down in one go.

    SBR?

My latest "American Rifleman" has a ad for "The new Sig MP available in 3 configurations." Carbine (simple enough) SMG (I imagine sub machine gun) and SBR. SBR? The only thing that seems to make sense is "short barreled rifle". But isn't that a carbine?

    Pigs and tusks

I was talking to a friend about the TV show where they round up the wild hogs. Both of us are city boys but I know there must be some farmers/hog raisers here. Are all pigs born with tusks? And the farmer pulls them when they are babies, hoglets ? (what ever ) Or only the males? Or like my...

    Question for lawyers

Relax I don't want free legal advice. I'm just curious, what is the straight story on the "Esquire"? I'm pretty sure it's not a collage degree thing like DD, MD, DDS, etc.

    Maroon morons?

I've seen several posts here and on other boards, where someone called someone else a "maroon." I thought they were misspelling "moron". But since I am in no position to criticize any ones spelling I didn't spend much time worrying about it. But today I heard a talk show host on the radio end...

    The need for knife control

Since recent events in Texas have shown the lack of a gun does not prevent lunatics from attacking and injuring the innocent. (no fatalities thankfully) It shows clearly the need for knife control. Sadly at present just anyone can walk into a store and buy a knife. As many knives as they want...

    3 most booring movies.

I've seen several threads about favorite movies. What do you think are the 3 most booring movies you ever watched? (or tried to watch) I'm going with the following "all time classics." #1 Citizen Kane. (who cares about the bloody sled? Your asleep by then anyhow) #2 Gone with the wind. I...

    Ballistol?

I don't want to hijack "joewisc's" thread but I also have a question about Ballistol. If it is water soluble how does it work as a rust preventive? Also the instructions to use it straight as a lube, mix 50/50 with water as a cleaner. But other people have told me they mix it three of four to...

Ships or boats? Question for sailors.

A recent post got me wondering about the difference. I know a submarine is always a boat no matter how big it is. But outside of that, at what size does a boat become a ship? My BIL a retired Chief no less, gave me a dazed look and said "Damn, I never thought about it."

    Serial numbers?

I see a ad in my new "Shotgun News" for WWII P-38's with ""matched" "mismatched" or "force matched" ser:#'s. OK, matched & mismatched I have no problem understanding. But what is a "force matched" number? Just a part from another gun with the# changed? If so, why don't they just say some...

    How old are ya?

I was at the local pub. And people were discussing age, the bartender asked my friend how old he was, I sprayed beer pretty much everywhere after hearing his answer. (he's actualy 85) "I'm old enough to remember when tennis balls were white. Cokes were a nickel. And if you were wearing earrings...

    Christmas story

It's almost time for the best Christmas movie ever made (in my mind anyway) again. What I can't figure out is, what era is it set in? The cars/streetcars could be early 40's or late 40's .(not alot of new cars avalible right after the war) Ralphies little brother got a toy Zepplin for...

    Folding hammer spurs?

I was looking at a Merwin Hulbert "pocket army" with a folding hammer spur at a gunshow, and thought it was a good idea. Merwins of course were a pretty spendy item "back in the day". Hopkins & Allens however wre at the other end of the price scale. And some H&A's also had folding hammer spurs...

    Legal question?

If there are any lawyers out there that don't mind a dumb question. What the hell does "mopery" mean? Is it a legal term at all, like assult, burglary, etc? And no, I don't have a Websters.
