Has anyone seen this before? It may very well not be cork but something was used to fill a cavity in the butt. Certainly looks original. Any model 21 experts out there?

Never got into this so I was wondering if collectors collect the boxes or the boxes with the ammo? Seems to me that the old corroded ammo would have no value. I presume it's the graphics on the boxes that the collectors covet.

I have a 5 screw K-22 with the serial number 6555** and I'm interested in the year of manufacture and any other interesting information someone might have. Thanks.
