***UPDATE*** Snagged A Model 5926 Recently

Well, I've owned many 3rd Generation S&W pistols over the years including two previous frame-mounted decocker models, a 1026 and a Kentucky State Police Contract 1076. However, it's probably been 5 years or so since I've owned any 3rd Gen guns and I recently got the itch to get another. As...

New Grip And Holster For My Model 58!

I recently got a new grip (stocks) and holster for my circa 1973 Model 58. The grip is a Hogue Monogrip in tulipwood. It was a bit hellish to install, but boy is this grip comfortable! I think it looks pretty darn good too! :) The holster is a model that has quickly become a favorite of mine...

Lobo Gun Leather Combat Classic Review

A week ago, I received a Lobo Gun Leather Combat Classic holster from Ray, the man behind Lobo Gun Leather. The Combat Classic is Ray's latest holster design and it certainly does live up to its name. To my mind, this holster is reminiscent of what many lawmen from a bygone age would have...

Smith & Wesson Factory N-frame RB Grips

This is a nice set of original factory S&W combat grips. The number 473 is handwritten on each grip and a date of Mar 5 1990 is stamped on the right slab. These are an attractive set and are in excellent, "near new" condition, but they are NOT mint. They do have a few tiny dings, mostly on the...

    .41 Magnum / ".41 Special" Ammo Question

I'm interested in getting some light practice loads in .41 Magnum. If I can locate some or have a friend of mine make some up, would this ammo loaded with a swaged LSWC bullet @ 800fps be likely to lead the barrel or shouldn't this be an issue? Thanks!

Been Wanting One Of These For Over 40 Years!

Success! I've been pining for a decent example of a Model 58 that I didn't have to pay an insane amount of money for since the early 70's and I finally snagged one on Friday! It looks to be in decent shape and was manufactured in 1973. I ordered it online and will hopefully have it by Friday...

    Newest Acquisition

This is not only a semi-automatic pistol, it's a "semi" Smith & Wesson pistol! I picked up this new Walther PPK .380 ACP (manufactured by S&W in Houlton, Maine) a couple of weeks ago for those rare occasions when I can't get away with anything larger. I have just over 200 rounds of FMJ and...

    Any Photoshop Wizards Out There?

dan-g recently brought up the idea of having a PC627 UDR finished with Melonite which got me to thinking I might like to do the same. Is there a Photoshop wizard here who could help me out by giving my UDR a virtual Melonite finish so we can all get an idea of what it would look like? Thanks! :)

New Holster For My PC 627 UDR

Here are a couple of photos of my latest holster from Lobo Gun Leather (my fifth). It is a modified Tom Threepersons. In recent months, it has become increasingly painful (sometimes impossibly painful) for me to draw my handguns from typical "high rise" holsters. I presented my problem to Ray...
