Width of hammer on new model 63?

I need to know the width of the hammer on the eight shot version, as it will tell me if I can use a set of Nills that I currently have.Thanks. (the answer needs to be something like .290, to fit the hammer recess on the grip)

Did S&W offer more than one height of rear sight blade? If so, how would I determine which one is in my gun. My 63 shoots high, even with the rear sight as low as it can go. No way to put in a taller front sight. Thanks.

    Rusty Lally columns?

The house is 58 years old and has always had a dry basement, yet the columns are rusting from the inside out and occasionally produce beads of water through the rusty zones (as shown in the photos) I suppose it's time to talk to someone about replacing them, but is there a footing or other...

The reality of getting rid of a gun safe?

I have a nice Browning safe, approx. 26" wide by 20" deep by 60 inches tall. No longer needed and I'd like to use the closet that it's in, as a closet again. When I bought it a few decades ago, I was able to bring it in the short distance from my garage with a hoist that I had, but that's gone...

    Colt SAA?

Thoughts on buying a NIB Colt SAA .45 5.5 inch barrel gun, built in 2000, for $1895-(consignment gun-no tax, I believe) vs buying a new, sight unseen Standard Manufacturing example at the same price, plus tax. ..I think the Colt name always carries some weight, and while the Standard gun might...

New tv time: Sony 49 incher?

Might as well live large at home...or view a larger tv. I see that four 49" models are available from Sony. Ranging in price for 645 to 995. I'm a Sony fan, ...and a pretty low tech kind of guy, but figured I might as well go for the best one, the Magnolia, at the top of the price range...

    Safes?

A recent thread indicated that many of you are in downsizing mode. I am as well. We all know what's involved in selling handguns, but how are you handling the elephant in the room, or shall I say "anchor". I happen to have a currently unused Browning Trimline safe. Probably weighs 350#. A comp...

    WW2 Marine roster info

I'm trying to help a friend with finding some info about her father. Ancestry.com revealed several rosters. On one of his rosters, there is a column which says:Footnote M+S On a casualty roster, SS(CF) is indicated. Can anyone help with their meaning? Thanks.
