    How did I do? M30-1 3”

Local gun shop find today... a 1971 M30-1 3” in 32. I got it for $423.00 out the door no box and no goodies. I’m apparently collecting snubbies lately since that’s all I’m finding. But that’s ok because I’ll keep picking them up until I start finding longer barrel wheelies. Well here she is.

    Family Shot 2.5" Magnums

I love short barrel magnums. I currently have two 2.5" M19's and a 2.5" M686-3. I am looking to add a M65 and M27 to the crew but here are my current shorties.

    WTB RB K Frame grips.

I am primarily looking for a set of K Frame Magnas to put on my 19-3 2.5". I my be interested in other types of grips but prefer to get her back as close to stock as I can. I am looking for reasonably priced grips. Not looking for $100+ vintage stuff. Thanks Scott

    I got one heck of a deal/trade 686-3 2.5 inch

OK, I am gonna brag now. I have wanted a M19 2.5" and a M13 for years and have scored both of them in the past 45 days. Another gun that was really high on my most wanted list was a 2.5" 686. Well today I went to my local pusher to see what they had. He goes to the back and brings out a...

    Should I get a M14?

OK, I am addicted to S&W Revolvers...I like older P&R (but will buy non P&R vintage Smiths) and I have never had a M14. My collection doesn't have any particular theme and my local shop has a collection of older M14's that I think they may deal on. I like to think that I buy practical carry...

    New to me M19-3 2.5"

I just picked up my nice shooter quality M19-3 2.5" snubby from my local shop. It came with nasty Pachmayrs which were quickly replaced with a set of S&W combats I got from fellow forum member Peak53 (thanks Ed!). It came with the box, paperwork and tool and I got it for $500. It will be a...

Took my new acquisitions to the range today

Over the past three weeks I have scored a M13-2, M19-5 and a M60-1. I took them all to the range today along with my wife and her 9mm. Absolutely loved shooting the 2 K Frames. Both are great shooters and have sweet triggers. The little 60 is a good shooter but has a rather stiff trigger...

What grips for my 19-3 2.5 inch

I have a 19-5 with a 2.5 inch bbl and have a 19-3 2.5inch on layaway at my local shop. I got a good deal on it because it has those ugly arse Pachmayr grips on it. That is a no go for me. I am gonna buy some replacement grips from the S&W store. I am either gonna get the stock magnas or a...

I am back with a vengeance... .357 style

I have been "out" of the gun thing for a bit... I vacillate between my two loves... music and guns. Music puts money in my pocket so that one gets my attention more often than not. But after a while of being on a gun hiatus I am back. Last Friday I scored one of my all time wants that I have...

    Age of a M60 marked MOD-60

I found a M60 that is marked MOD-60 on the gun and the Ser #AEVXXXX puts it at around 1984 but that would have been a 60-1 and there is no -1 on the gun. I am perplexed ;0) Anyone have an idea of what it is I have as far as age and whether it is a -1 or not?

    I'm Back!

Have not been here since 10-5-10, but I got the itch and I had to come back. Been hard and heavy back into music but saw a nice Model 36 at my shop...and it was on. So glad to be back at the S&W Forum. Lets see how much I have forgotten.....

Would/could a 629-4 have been ported from the factory?

I am looking at a sweet 629-4 6" Smith with what looks to be factory porting. But the current owner and myself have not been able to secure any info where this was a factory option for a 629-4. Any help please?

    Picked up my 19-3 today!

Picked up my 19-3 today! I put this baby on layaway several weeks ago and finally brought her home today. Probably one of the tightest older revolvers I have found. Dates to 1976 according to THE Book. Picking up my 686 no dash Friday and hope to take them both to the range Sunday. Sorry for...

Please help me decide between 2 Pre M27 5 screws.

My local shop has two different 6" Pre M27's. The first is about a 1954 with Magnas in about what I would conservatively say 80% condition. I can get it for about $800. The other is a 1955 lettered Smith with Target grips and in probably 98% for $1200. I am really tempted to go for lettered...

    Price Check on a 686 no dash 8" 3/8ths

My local pusher has a 686 no dash 8" 3/8ths that they want $599 for. It looks to be in fantastic shape. No box that I can tell and it has what look to be rubber Hogues. I think $599 is reasonable, am I correct. The biggest issue is the barrel length. I said I would not get another 8" 3/8th...
