My friend was cleaning his 4" 19-5 yesterday and saw that the barrel was cracked at the forcing cone. Knowing that I had the frame wrench tool he called, HELP! I can't seem to find one out there in all the normal places so I am putting up a request here. Please let me know what you might have or...

    Cylinder marked "2"

Hey Guys; I bought a 5" 27-2 that dates to 1978 this weekend and I was cleaning it up today and noticed that the cylinder was marked with a number 2 on the breech end. I had never noticed this before. I know that the Highway Patrolmans were marked with an H and I believe that was so the bluing...

Explanation; I bought the Highway Patrolman discussed in this thread: https://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-smithing/712747-offset-primer-hits.html with intentions of trying to fix it. WTB: S&W Golf equipment & brochures

At the last S&W symposium in Tulsa I purchased a set of S&W golf clubs with a S&W bag and driver. This golf line of equipment was going to be marketed by S&W in 2003 but lived a very short life. Out of the blue, Tom sent me a S&W knife that had a golf scene etched on it because he saw my WTB S&W golf posting. I will now have to run down the history behind it. The members here are just great!

    29 no dash with 8 3/8" barrel

I recently purchased a Mod 29 with a 8 3/8" barrel and Roy says it shipped in June, 1959. The "big book" says the 8" 29s were introduced in 1958. The very few I could find close to #S186436 in the ship date request portion of the forum were also shipped in the first half of 1959. Do any of the...

    I may have screwed up???

I have used Simple Green in my ultrasonic cleaner in the past with great results. The solution was getting dirty so I changed it with a brand new bottle of Simple Green but I did not dilute it with water as the label says. I put in some gummed up parts from a 1950's S&W revolver and let it run...

I need the height of a model 48 front sight please.

Would someone with a 4" model 48 .22 mag revolver kindly measure the height of the front sight. The top edge of the bore to the top of the sight would work fine for me. I know that the rear sight blade should be .126". Thank you for your time and consideration; Mike

    First Helpful Hints brochure?

Hey Guys & Gals; When did the first Helpful Hints brochure (the one with Officer Ray J. Nowka of the LAPD wearing jodphurs) start being put in the box with new revolvers? Was there only one variation used until July, 1951? I'm just trying to clear up my sketchy notes on the subject. Thanks in...
