    Anyone collect old fishing gear?

I grew up on the Muskegon River in mid Michigan (flowing into Lk Michigan). Every weekend was spent at the cottage my Dad built in 1959 (I was 3 at the time). Being an avid fisherboy/man my whole life I often think back to those good old days on the river catching trout, smallmouth bass, and...

Some restoration on a special model 10

My ex BIL Kenn (known affectionately as Catman) and I were very close in the 70’s -80’s. When he’d returned from Viet Nam, I was a youngster in my mid teens. We quickly bonded as our mutual love of trout fishing drew us together in a very special way. Many weeks long trips to the UP of MI over...

    We’ve adopted a SASQUATCH!

And it’s even gun related! For years, my wife has wanted a Squatch for a wooded area between my barn and the road. And it had to be BIG. Our goal was to hide it a little but cause people to just barely catch a glimpse of it and say “whoa, did you see that?!?” and turn around for a better look...

Question about a stag folder handle

This unbranded folder is one of my top three favorite knives. The quality and craftsmanship is very unique. My question is about the handle - what type of bone (edit: antler) is this? Edit to add: I believe the knife to be 1920 - 1950 era. Please correct me if I’m off base.

Little Sig Sauer love this afternoon

Like I do occasionally do, I went bat**** crazy and got a couple Sigs out for a ride this afternoon. My two favorites are this P226 Legion and the P938. Both are shot often with confidence. The 226 is the smoothest shooting firearm I own and is heavy enough that there's basically no felt...

*** ITEMS ARE SOLD PLEASE REMOVE *** Randall Made Knives

I have a number of Randall Made knives that have never been used so I'm sending some to new homes. Neither of these have ever been sharpened, used, or carried and include original sheaths. All forum rules apply, first "I'll take it" followed by a PM or (preferred) email to...

    Epic snowscapes tonight in Michigan!

We’ve been getting some really wet snow tonight before it turns to blizzard conditions tomorrow. Being out with the dogs a few minutes ago revealed this incredible scene in the front yard. Still snowing and incredibly quiet and still, just sipping on a Bourbon and enjoying the moment …..

Another 3 inch J frame (perfection!)

The flurry of threads on 3" revolvers invoked me to bring out my M36-1 (circa 1981) this am for some plinking. Man, I love this little revolver - it's on another planet (compared to my 2" models) relative to accuracy. Took a chance on the big auction site 4-5 years ago as the pics were...

Happy (white) Halloween from SW Michigan!

The little ones were cold tonight! On a side note, hoping for a red trail thru the woods in the morning, gotta look at the bright side!

Some serious fun with a couple model 41’s this morning!

Took advantage of the beautiful weather we’re having in SW MI and took a few pistols out for some fun this am. At the front of the line were these two model 41’s - the 7 3/8” barrel is from 1971 and the 5” is vintage 1965 (it had less than 100 rounds thru it). Had some new (old) magazines that...

I wanna see some 100 year old guns!

I put this in the “other brands” sub forum because I want to see all brands (including S&W of course). But show us your favorite 100 year old gun - revolver, semi auto, rifle, whatever. Personally, this is not in my wheelhouse but I do have a fascination with these old gems. Here’s my 1920...

A vintage LL BEAN “hunting and fishing” knife

Over the years I’ve evolved to buying stuff I like, irregardless of the value. This knife is a good example, offered for $19.99 plus shipping so I grabbed it. A supposedly 1950’s era LL BEAN knife advertised as a fishing and hunting multiple use knife with original sheath. I did a search and...

Today was my last day of running my business!

After 33 years I’ve sold the business to a long time customer who now employs all of my employees and services all of my customers! Out here in the barn celebrating my last full time day of work with a fine local beverage. From here on out I’m on a consulting contract for two years. The job...

    Beautiful old stag handled folder

I’m usually very brand oriented but fell in love with this “unbranded” folder with a really cool stag handle. Measures 4.25” closed. Has anyone ever seen a similar specimen? I’d love to learn more about it but will be totally satisfied just taking it hunting and fishing …. thanks in advance!

Little stainless and combat action for the weekend!

Really enjoy the look and feel of this combo on guns I shoot frequently. Pictured is an M66-3 wearing factory combats and a 617 wearing beautiful walnuts by Culina. Show us some of yours!!

Rick Bowles has passed away 2/7/23

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere … word is he passed from a heart attack today. Sad, he was a wealth of information about Randall knives and I bought several from him. Prayers for his friends and family.
