37 years ago today, I retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. It seems like only yesterday, but it was a half a lifetime ago for me.

I just received a letter on my 2nd Model SA 38. It was shipped on September 7, 1877. The only flaws in it are a little discoloration in three of the cylinder flutes, and a little cloudiness on a little bit of the frame nickel.

I just found a Regulation Police 38 S&W in factory nickel that appears to be unfired, Serial #17XXX, which places it circa 1920. Does anyone have any idea what percentage of these were nickeled?
