Model 66 and Box Reunited--Ya'll Ain't Gonna Believe This!

When my dad retired in 1975 as a local police officer he was allowed to keep his issued Model 66 (gun only, no box; issued circa 1972.) It was an early gun, serial number 2K55868. Dad passed away in 2002; I have the gun now. While cruising eBay the other night I spied a pristine Model 66 box...

Researching this for a friend who got it from his elderly in-laws. .38 S&W Safety Hammerless, serial# 253361. Looks to be a 4 or 5-inch barrel. Possibly a 5th Model? SCSW 3d. Ed. puts that serial number range from 1907-1940; anybody got a closer date?

Can you guess why I bought this Model 27-4?

I don’t usually buy modern guns; I stick to the pre-model number and pre-war revolvers. But when I saw this pristine Model 27-4 in a gun shop at a shade less than $700 I had to pick it up. Any idea what made me reach for my wallet? Hint: It's the part made of wood...

    Weber Grilled Chicken--Oh, My Goodness!

Let me say it again--Oh, my goodness! I butterflied a whole chicken, used Italian dressing and a healthy amount of Old Bay Seasoning, and grilled this sucker for about 2 hrs. at 400degrees.
