    My Model 15-3

No particular reason to post this. I was just trying out a pair of targets on my Model 15-3. I've had this CM for about 10years. I bought it at a gunshow...I was looking for a Model 10 at the time, when this showed up, for $175. It has been refinished...the S&W logo is "soft" from the polish. I...

My Hogue Nylon Monogrip Adventure *Update Post #8*

I have a Model 15-3 that is decidedly a shooter. Looks good, but reblued. It came with PC Magnas, which I like with the addition of a T-grip. Now, I am a grip experimenter, with a history of trying different grips, and a drawer of grips. I like being able to switch grips for different uses...

WTT In NE Ohio Pre-Model 10

I bought this revolver a few years ago, and don't shoot it, as I enjoy my Model 15-3 more. Not really trying to sell, but I have had a hankering for a 3" Model 36 for a while. So I thought I'd put this out there. Not really into shipping. Revolver supposedly dates to around 1957. Shows some...

    Winchester 357 Magnum Silvertip....ummm News(?)

I used to shoot the Silvertip 357 load in a Security Six, and always liked it. In the last few years, I have been shooting 357 more in a variety of revolvers. All this time, I have looked for the Silvertips, but they have been unavailable. Finally, I sent an email to Winchester. Here is my...

    +P 38 Special Nonsense Regarding Model 10

I am a member of a few gun forums. Today, an individual asked the same question on two of them: "Is it safe to shoot +P in a heavy barreled Model 10 bought new in 1971". Argument ensued...one individual even opined that the K frame was never meant for plus P...that's what the L frame was for...

Favorite Factory 38 Special Round Nosed Lead?

Since I bought my circa 1957 pre model 10 four inch, I have wanted to go the full Model 10 retro route for fun... What is your favorite factory round nose lead 158gn load? I looked at the local store...all they had was American Eagle and Blazer.

Model 19-4 back from Andy Horvath

I bought my Model 19-4 from a dealer who sells LEO seized firearms. It came complete with case numbers engraved on it. Nickel, I did not notice that the barrel was a stainless Model 66 unit till I got it home. A gun with history. After a year or so, I started having some FTF issues...also, found...

    When Model Numbers Started Question.

I recently bought a Model 10 With four inch tapered barrel. The serial is C 422XXX...I have been told it is in a block made from 1957 to 1959. Inside the yoke, all it has is a small 8 inside a circle, an L, and what looks like a 7 (or maybe a 1). At what point did the "Model 10" start being used?

    "New" Model 10 for me

I found this on Armslist, and noticed the owner lived about 10 minutes from me, so I sent him an email. It took about a week for us to hook up due to both of our work schedules, but here it is. Serial C 4220XX.Previous owner thought it was made in 1959...would be better if it were '57, my birth...

    Andy Horvath Visit

I bought a well used nickel Model 19-4 snub a couple years ago. It came from a dealer who sells seized firearms, and has case file numbers engraved on it. Also, I found it had a Model 66 stainless barrel on it when I got it home....maybe a cracked forcing cone? Who knows...it is a gun with...

    NE Ohio S&W Smith?

I have this Nickel Model 19-4 I picked up a couple years ago. It is something of a frankensmith, as after I bought it, I discovered it has a stainless model 66 barrel. I get some occasional light strikes with it, and it has some carry-up issue when cocked SA slowly. I would like to have it...

WTS S&W 686-1 4", AND ParaUSA GI Expert 1911 *Both SOLD*

My 686-1 4" is in VG-excellent condition. The only reason I don't call it excellent is the shiny finish shows really tiny surface scratches on close examination. It has the "M" recall stamp on the yoke. I got it without the box, and it came with Pachmayr professional grips, not wood. Excellent...

    WITHDRAWN: Galco F.E.D. Paddle S&W 39, ETC.

I bought this Galco FED paddle holster online. It was supposed to be for a Glock 17, however, it is actually for a S&W Model 39 and all the similar S&W 9's... The seller will take it back and pay shipping, but I thought I would see if anyone here wants it...it is a great leather holster, and I...

    Range Day...357's and Kalshnikov

With a weekday off yesterday, I snuck out to my rifle club (West Branch Rifle and Pistol Club). My main goal was to try out some different loads in my 686-1 4" and 19-4 2.5". Over the past few weeks, I had accumulated some Hornady FTX 140gn, some Fiocchi 142gn FMJTC, and some UMC 125gn SP. The...

My job took me by Bass Pro shop Near Toledo Ohio today, a rare occaision. Checked out their ammo selection and found they had the Remington FBI load in stock...$32. So I bought a box. The last time I bought a box of this ammo was at least a year ago, but I still had a speedloader full for my...

    My 19-4 2.5" Nickle is a Frankengun!!

I bought my 19-4 2.5" Nickle at a gun show for a decent price...a bargain really. It was a LEO seized firearm with a case number electropenciled on it in several places. I didn't care, as I bought as a shooter. And, a shooter it is...very accurate. However, in sunlight, I noticed that the...
