Amazing what just a little Mothers Mag and a few minutes can do. Got this for a decent price with a nice little carved leather holster. Pretty scratched up but nothing too severe so I took a chance.

When did Smith and Wesson officially start using the N frame description? I said 1907 with the triple lock but was informed that the designation is a retroactive one and there are no pre-war N frames. Not sure Facebook is the best spot to get accurate info all the time! 😵‍💫

I just bought a pre-model #39, a run of the mill 59, and a nice 52-2. The 39 and 59 are the typical SA/DA with the decocker. The 52-2 is modified to shoot S.A. only, which I expected, but the decocker does not seem to work as expected in that no matter which position the lever is in, the hammer...

I do own on Smith semi, a 39-2, but ran into a 439 at my LGS today. It is in 98% condition, with 2 extra mags, no box, for $425. I can probably get it for less, but I am not sure how the 439 stacks up to the 39-2. What are the improvements for 39 to 439? Is $425 a good price? I sort of like...
