I bought this 686 new and put this picture up on the forum earlier because of the weird divot on the cylinder. Nobody recognized it ( I sure didn't) so I sent it back. It came back without work. The paperwork said that the "mark on the cylinder is part of machining process, all new cylinders...

Picked this 686P up today and found this divot on the cylinder. It looks like a machinist tapped it with a drill bit and said "whoops." I have 6 other S&W revolvers and none of them have this. Check out the picture and you'll see it looks like they tapped it twice with a punch at the edge...
