    Garage Sale Drought

A large part of my adult life has been spent looking for that elusive trinket at neighborhood garage sales. I have spent many a happy Saturday morning perusing about a 5 mile radius of several subdivisions near me hitting garage and estate sales. I would survey the goods from the street and if...

    Woolly Mammoth grips

From time to time I'll see grips made from this material and it amazes me how reasonably priced they seem to be for something that should be so rare. The woolly mammoth went extinct 2,000 years before Christ! For those that may know, why is this material not priced to the moon, if it is indeed...

    Magazine preference

I bought an aftermarket magazine for my recently acquired P08 and it is one shy of original magazine capacity. Is triple k better or worse than mec-gar?

    Luger Question

Without me having to join another forum, I have a question for you Luger experts. I just picked this up and am pretty sure the date should read 1938, but the one sure looks like a seven. I have seen dates where the one looked normal, so what is up with this one? (pun intended)

    Hearing aid battery nonsense

The last batch of hearing aid batteries came in a childproof package that I had never before seen. I had hell getting to them and said I would simply switch brands next time. Well, most all of them have this armor on them now it seems. Don't know the reason for the switch, but I'm not happy.

    Revolvers Soft?

Was thinking about going to the gun show and selling a few revolvers, but after looking on Gunbroker, prices seem to have gone down from a couple of years ago. What do y'all think, maybe wait for an upturn or will there be one?

What was the difference between the models 14 and 15 other than barrel lengths in some cases?

    Vise Grips

Was invented in 1924, had no idea they were nearly that old. Maybe the most useful tool I own, can't even describe how many jams they have bailed me out of... Locking pliers - Wikipedia

    Tanks, but no tanks...

I am getting a quote tomorrow to replace my conventional 40 gallon water heater with a tankless unit in my 2 bath 1400sf home. What kind of ballpark price am I looking at? Plumber says he has a couple of options to increase the gas flow needed. Just looking to get an idea of where I might be...

    ACP bullets in 45 Colt

I have more of the plated 230 grain bullets for the ACP than the crimping groove swc that are proper for the 45 Colt. Has anyone any experience using these with a light crimp and keeping velocities under 900 fps in a 45 Colt chambered gun? I realize the crimp can't distort the bullet and my...

    Reloading after 15 years

I am reloading pistol cartridges again after about a 15 year hiatus. I mostly used Bullseye and Unique for my mid range loads. Is there something else that might be a favorite powder that has come out lately? Maybe something that fills the case a bit more without the need for a magnum primer or...

    Remington Smooth Bores

A guy has 3 Remington 572 smooth bores, all in excellent condition, one being a Routledge. He wants a grand apiece, looked at some values, but nothing certain. I think the Routledge is worth a bit more than the others. What say the collective expertise on relative value on these?

    24 gauge shotgun

Guess I live under a rock because I'm just now hearing that this and the 32 gauge is very real. How long has this been going on and is it popular here in America?

    Bolt action smoothbore

I have a single shot .22 smoothbore rifle, a Remington 510. Did anyone ever make a .22 smoothbore bolt action that held a magazine of sorts? Not talking about the pump versions.

    Dropping your gun

Not wanting to derail the 1908 Colt thread, I have a question... I know folks have been injured and killed by a dropped handgun, but what I have a hard time visualizing is how does a dropped hammerless pistol shoot facing the dropee when the inertia direction is opposite of the cartridge?
