    It's me again.

I haven't been here for five years, but now have a new Chief's Special. I thought the nickle Model 36 could do with a new friend. It's a Model 60 in stainless. I've painted out the last digit of the serial number. Can anyone tell me anything about the gun - year of manufacture etc. Thanks...

What did you do with your S&W today?

I blew the cobwebs out of the Model 36. I use hollow based wadcutters with it and I can't believe how accurate a little gun with such a short barrel can be :)

    Model 36 cylinder release problem.

Hi Guys. I've got a previously unfired model 36 that I've now put about 30 shots through, but the cylinder release has gone a bit wrong. I push the cylinder release latch forward as far as I can but I have to really push the cylinder out to get it to open. Previously it was completely smooth...

    Model 36 snubbie.

I just bought this on Saturday And are quite impressed with it's accuracy. This is a 10 shot group ( one was outside of the black) at 25 meters, standing, two hands.

Hi Guys, I know so little about these guns that I don't even know if this is the right year forum. Anyway... Back on topic. A Model 36 Chiefs Special in nickel, and in fairly good condition is coming up at auction. I haven't seen it yet, but thought I'd research it in advance. Are these a...

    Poor man's case tumbler.

I had a few thousand rounds of dirty cases. Some of the cases were covered in some sort of lead projectile lube gunk - yuk. Others were just cases that had been fired a number of times without being cleaned. I put one or two hundred at a time on a cloth and gave them a light spray, or even...

    An interesting observation.

I thought my 28-3 was pretty accurate having a 6" barrel and being reasonably heavy. I'm not reloading for it yet so I've just been using cheap re-maufactured stuff the pistol club buys in bulk. But... today one of the guys had reloaded some extra ammo with wadcutters and 2.8 grains (I don't...

I had a good time today...

At the gun club today we had a .38 Special competion. It was kinda fun with everyone shooting .38. It was run the same as our usual .22 Bullseye comp' at 25 yards with precision and rapid fire. What was interesting is how accurate the calibre is. Similar competions using 9mm are nothing like...
